Don’t worry about too many emails, Adam. Always appreciate you and what you have to tell us. I do not appreciate the new economic suicidal policies. 🤬

Here's a Veteran to Veteran question. If the non-violent protest get so massive in size, do you think the that law enforcement and military will stand down regardless of the tyrants orders to shoot?

Alexandra's avatar

I wonder the very same thing. I have been saying all along that I hope that the military honors its oath to protect the constitution.

John/ Bring It On 🤠🌵🪖's avatar

I do believe Trump hates our country. As Rome burns Caesar golfs!!!

These tariffs are the one thing that is going to blow up in the tyrants orange face. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Well Done, Donald!!!

Headline Today: Elon Musk 'being driven visibly insane' by anti-Tesla protests. IT'S WORKING, KEEP IT UP!!!

Yes. In the end, the "Manchurian Cantaloupe" and his "Maybelline mini-me" will get just retribution for this

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

Manchurian Cantaloupe, Maybelline mini-me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 One of the things I like about Substack is, regardless how gloomy the news is, people make me laugh 🤓 I especially love the flattering names bestowed upon our fearless, oops, I mean gutless leaders 🤓

That is great! My favorite is agent orange because he’s so toxic. It isn’t an original and it may not make sense to those who are too young to have lived through the Vietnam war.

Love the nicknames! I've made up a number of nicknames for the Narcissistic Nincompoop, but Manchurian Cantaloupe is a new one for me. Thanks!

I claim dibs on that one myself many, many months ago. :) And don't forget the one person who made this all possible --- Kentucky Fried Voldemort himself.

Thanks for the comment. You may be right. I can't take credit for inventing the name, but I thought it would be a good place to use it.

PERSEVERANCE!!!! The fight has only just begun! I can't wait for the feeling of victory!!!! The tyrant got 77.3 million votes and 165 million people over the age of 18 DID NOT vote for him. "We The People" will win this fight!

Great thread and thank you so much - bottom of my heart- for your military service 🫡 I volunteer at local VA and I know your sacrifice! It pisses me off that any VA services, staff or $$ cuts are even being whispered about. Sat. I march for you and others 💝

Ah, but you will need to buy things Rebecca and anything imported will be more expensive, some eye poppingly so! Some things could be in short supply. Shooting for my update post on tariffs by tomorrow afternoon. If you haven’t read my previous article, “Tariff Incarceration Day” it will help you understand. free bobswandby@substack.com. I thought he might waffle, his frequent ploy, but instead he doubled down and now we’re all going to pay big time. My best hope is that leads to his early demise, but it’s likely to take awhile and better education before many voters have that oh sh.t! moment. Go Adam! They own it now-lock,stock and barrel. He can’t blame it on Biden, but I’m sure he will try.

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

It won’t make any sense whatsoever, but agent orange will blame it on former President Biden. His zombie maggots will eat it up 🤨

Doreen Dalesandro's avatar

Hell, agent orange may even go back as far as FDR. Oops, my mistake. He knows diddly squad about history.

I Resist's avatar

“Tariff Incarceration Day” is now posted on my substack, bobswandby@substack.com. It analyzes the impacts, current and looking forward. I have to admit I’m a little jealous though. Bloomberg came up with a better headline, Obliteration Day!🌚😂

Exactly. There's a big difference between what a person WANTS and what a person NEEDS.

The filthy rich have so much money that everything is a WANT, so they don't care.

Then there are those (long ago I was one of them) who spend beyond their means because they WANT more than they can afford. As they continue to dig themselves further and further into debt, they suddenly discover that they can no longer buy what they NEED.

My advice to people with credit card debt (as I once was) is to look at what their current minimum payment(s) total. Then get their card(s) paid off and start saving an amount equal to the minimum monthly payment(s) every month. Finally, you are now paying yourself instead of the credit card company and anything that you WANT can be bought from your savings. I never charge more than I can pay in full the next month. The only monthly debt I have is my home mortgage (others might also have a monthly car payment).

I apologize for getting sidetracked but it took me a long time to figure out how to pay for my NEEDS first and my WANTS after I have saved enough to afford them.

Knowing the difference between WANTS and NEEDS is the first step toward financial success. It is an experience that I feel compelled to share for anyone who might benefit from it.

I Resist's avatar

Like and totally endorse your comment. Being out of debt is economic freedom!

Kat Hudy's avatar

Agree totally. But our culture is spoiled, lazy, selfish, and addicted to instant gratification. That’s one reason why so many are so slow to wake up about what’s going on, perhaps purposely. We don’t wanna give up all our stuff.

Adam, See Heather Cox Richardson’s Politics Chat on March 11, 2025. They DELIBERATELY CRASHED THE ECONOMY. Why? So the Oligarchs can get richer. The American people will lose all their personal wealth and the “State” will own everything. Sound familiar?

Pegasus's avatar

Read the stories about Viktor Orban. Trump is doing the same thing.

What I’d like to see is someone following the money. Who is buying right now? The market was down again today in advance of this expected fiasco. I want to see who is buying stock as it drops. I’d love for it to be illegal for anyone working for the government to trade in stock until they leave office or benefit directly, even the non-government techbros who funded a lot of these people.

I Resist's avatar

It’s an obvious conflict of interest, but Congress keeps getting more corrupt, not to mention the Administration, whose super grifter leader sets the tone. I think I heard the word “wealth” at least 10 times in the tariffs reality show before I couldn’t take any more and shut it off, and I’m quite sure he wasn’t talking about your or my wealth, although he is delusional.

MJ's avatar

So, if their goal is to crash the economy with the tariffs and take all our money, Is there any place our money is safe?

I Resist's avatar

I’m not too good at tech stuff, but if you subscribe to my account i believe you can privately messege me. I don’t want to appear as an investment adviser here, but I will give you my opinion.

BoraHorza's avatar

But, thatʻs not how Trump is monetizing Tariffs. The entire reason he is deadset on tariffs is that he now has the most direct control over the largest segment of the global economy that any individual has ever had. He can personally make billions of dollars appear or disappear. This means that he can be paid billions of dollars by interested parties to add or remove tariffs. If you are a foreign automobile maker right now, job one is to find out how to make the relevant exceptions appear and at what price.

There is no remotely political angle to this. Donald Trump is surely now one of the richest men on Earth.

BoraHorza's avatar

By the way, the reason he got pissy with Putin is that he figured out how to get richer than Putin. End of story.

To think that just a few hundred thousand stupid, racist, Americans have brought down the world’s alliances and economies. I see no path to ever forgiving them. The hate I have for them scares me.

Joan Bailey's avatar

Not hate, but surely the utmost disgust.

JF's avatar

Sorry. I hate them. They are killing my grandchildren. No mercy.

Joan Bailey's avatar

I know how you feel but hate eats away at your soul. I won’t give him that power over me. I know too how you feel about your grandkids. We have five and I am apprehensive of what their future will be like.

JF's avatar

The thought of them killing our grandchildren eats at my soul more. The hate is the only relief.

Richard Breining's avatar

Hate can be beneficial as long as it is used as a motivation to act in constructive ways to correct the injustice(s) that result in such a strong emotion.

JF's avatar

Thanks, Richard. I go to every protest. I’m doing my own consumer strike (only buying essentials). I’m no longer contributing to or working on campaigns because I suspect elections are over, so that’s wasted resources.

I love Substack, but I’m encountering a fair number of glitches, which is probably because they grew so fast. When I “like” a comment, it jumps off the screen, so I have to start over to leave a reply. I thought I had already written this in a smaller window, but it isn’t here. Anyway, I’m definitely too fired up, and I think since it’s still light here in the west, I’ll take a quick walk. Thanks, Linda for your understanding.

There will be no midterms. After the drubbing in Wisconsin, they are forewarned and will either find an “emergency” to cancel elections, or find a way to scuttle the results - such as Mike Johnson refusing to certify, or whatever devious trick they can pull. Elections will not save us; I think there are better ways to resist. National strike.

I haven’t read all of Project 2025, but I’ve read several extensive synopses by journalists. It’s terrifying. Christian Nationalism.

I think we are that far gone. Our only fault was a lack of imagination of what they were capable of pulling off. Everything Trump and his cabal have done so far was thought to be inconceivable. Some of this stuff he said out loud. Musk? Attacking Canada? Where did that come from? He is literally insane.

The word “megalomaniac” starts to describe Musk. He seems truly bent on world domination. These right wing tech bros are almost as terrifying as the Christian Nationalists. It’s odd to see them making common cause. They are both amoral.

The Trumpers will not wake up. Trump could put us into a depression with soup lines and they would praise him because he is building back our economy. I have no faith in them waking up.

Shannon T.'s avatar

The cult members won’t wake up. Hopefully the people who voted for him thinking he would improve the economy (not true cult followers-just disengaged voters) will wake up soon.

Sherrie, I’m not too sure about that. People always vote their pocketbook, especially if the economy is down!
