Love the article, but you forgot Kash Patel and Howard Lutnik! I know the list is getting long, but they deserve to be included in the worst of the worst.

Let’s not leave out Russel Vought, architect of Project 2025 and quietly implementing the infrastructure to inflict this deeply destructive and unpopular screed upon America for generations. What the fall of other totalitarian regimes has taught us is that such quiet, effective and ruthless administrative leaders can build structures that are vastly destructive.

I think he and Miller are the ones to remove first - they WILL usher in Christian Nationalism while the rest are putting on their shows. And it will be chilling.

Charles Welsh's avatar

Agreed. Pull the roots out first, then cut off the flowers.

Susan M Wheeler's avatar

Yes, absolutely, bc even Hitler had his snakes behind the throne, doing his bidding. My vote for creepiest cabinet member goes to Stephen Miller… hands down the worst.

crazy cat lady's avatar

he has the same look in his dead eyes as the serial killers profiled on tv.

Nancy's avatar

i don't think miller is in the cabinet, exactly, but his influence is everywhere.

Faith Johnston's avatar

He is the puppeteer controlling trumps marionette strings, just my opinion, he is cruel, evil and completely without conscience

Fed-up Republican's avatar

... just like trump.

Nancy's avatar

Oh, he is so horrible but so in the background he's easy to forget. But he's right up there with miller and bondi.

silvia faris's avatar

oh right he is a dangerous sicko

Tia Goode's avatar

Vought seems to be the enigma in all of this. He keeps such a behind the scenes low-profile, no one ever talks about him.

Johan's avatar

A pure competition of obsequious immoral fools.

The first to be removed from the current Trump administration should be Howard Lutnik, for his involvement in the Epstein sex-ring trafficking scandal. He has lied under oath and should be the first of many members of this cabinet.

Steve Williams's avatar

I agree, and with the pick of Miller if I must pick only one “worst” as he seems to have great influence on djt himself.

I don't know. In honor of Olympic week, my hat's off to Klaus Bondi as the blonde horse upstart who broke all records yesterday in sheer nastiness, arrogance and contempt through her shameless screaming, screeching, prevaricating, raging looniness on full display yesterday at the House Judiciary Committee.

The Gold should really go to her personal trainer, Jamie Raskin. He put Miss Congeniality on notice that she wouldn't get away with turning a Congressional hearing into a joke, much less a pep rally for a demented fascist whose only source of joy is grabbing things that don't belong to him -- and he delivered.

Raskin and his entire team got her goat, locked in the basement and threw away the key. Within minutes they cracked that cast-iron sneer and pierced her foundation-thin veneer of contempt she always has plastered on that cement face, bringing out the screeching, screaming psychotic harpy and desperate wormtongue within. All records busted -- just like that.

Well played, Trainer Raskin, well played....

Bondi's scared. Damned scared. Good.

It's Come To This's avatar

Yes. I thought so too. 😁

Catherine Ely's avatar

LOCK HER UP! She was a criminal AG in Florida. Before she sat at th foot of the throne

Porter Rockwell's avatar

I agree ... sort of ...

Lutnik could be the one we could get rid of first. He's less well defended and more expendable. I have long believed that the best way to get rid of Trump is to start with weak subordinates who are easier to pick off. Once the dam starts to break, then we can move up to Bondi, Noem, Miller and finally (Oh Happy Day!) Trump..

Laura's avatar

Yes. Pick off the low hanging fruit and work

The way up the tree

Laura's avatar

I agree. That would be a great place to start. It says a lot about how corrupt our country has become when the Epstein information has resulted in consequences in the UK, but not here.

Jill B.'s avatar

He’s not the only one who has lied. And his job doesn’t influence Trump’s behavior like Miller and Bondi!

Sabrina DiMichele's avatar

The first to be shed should have been Hegseth in connection with Signalgate.

Love this new weekly newsletter! OMG- I agree 100% with all the winners you highlight. Hopefully we can change what we have created and revert back to what Americans used to value in a leader. George Will said it best, this is a "Sickening moral slum of an administration."

Whenever she speaks it’s like nails on a chalkboard.

Oh, yes, we cannot forget KKKaroline Leavitt!!!

But let’s congratulate the Press Secretary for making such a great bargain - & at such a young age!

Most sell their souls for much less air time.

She should go on permanent maternity leave. Now.

Jay Jay Eh's avatar

She left her 3-day old baby girl to run to Trump when he got his ear nicked!

Considering what a weirdo she has become perhaps it’s best for the baby.

Robot Bender's avatar

Bullshit Barbie.

I was thinking Miller myself... not quite in the public eye as much as the others, but a shark perpetually lurking under the surface -- waiting to strike.

If Bondi was auditioning for another sequel to "Mean Girls", she was assured the part yesterday. I heard that Faux News was so put off by her performance though, they barely aired any of it.

Deborah's avatar

Bondi was horrifying and embarrassing. Regina George, all grown up into a psychopath.

Randy River's avatar

I never saw the movie, so I had to look this up. You are spot on!

The embedded advertisement needs to be bordered and identified. On my iPad it appears as part of the newsletter, which had me puzzled.

I knew this administration would be authoritarian, but I’m gobsmacked about how open they are in their efforts. It’s almost cartoonish except it’s so real.

I feel so drained. To be forced to reckon with the number of people willing and eager to be evil is taking a toll. Not just in the administration, but all the MAGA voters, all the recruits for ICE. It’s very demoralizing. I thought most of us were basically good, and on the same team as democracy.

Joan Bailey's avatar

Who knew so many “bad actors “ lived among us all these years? Absolutely astounding.

Bob Mast's avatar

We always knew there were nuts in this country, but they pretty much stayed under their rocks. Trump gave them permission to come out and the American people gave them the power to run the country.

Robot Bender's avatar

After 20+ years in the airlines, I knew.

Laura's avatar

I love this deeper dive concept, Adam. Like you said, with the firehose of awfulness, we are always in reaction mode. I like the idea of a weekly analysis laying out the people and policies, as that can fuel less reactivity and more planfulness

Stephen Friedman's avatar

Bondi because the DOJ should be keeping the others in line.

Emma G's avatar

Miller - not elected, not in the spotlight, but he is the brains behind the operation (along w/Vought). They are making Project 2025 come to fruition. On your list I see a lot of useful idiots (or useless as the case may be), but Miller is pulling those strings and he's not only relentless but efficient.

Susan M Wheeler's avatar

He’s Trump’s Goebbels, make no mistake about that.

Jane Siegel's avatar

What about Tulsi Gabbard?

#DebDag's avatar

Yes, a former supposed Democrat, she’s up there with these others.

Michele Clark's avatar

I cringe at each of these descriptions. Couldn't possibly choose. And they all frighten me.

Nancy Burgland's avatar

My thoughts: they are in their own Olympics to see who can win over 47 the most with their tactics to destroy our democracy. When 47 is done, they are done. And they will not be able to show their faces in the public again. KARMA BABY!

Cheri's avatar

It's like being a kid in a candy store with so many tempting options! They are ALL horrible despicable people. ALL of them must go & without habeas corpus just like what they are doing to so many law abiding people, regardless of citizenship. Send them ALL to one of those hideous detention centers and let them bathe in each other's filth.

Tracy Kohlbeck's avatar

I had Miller and Noem on my card as the worst of the worst and I hope to God they're both, along with the rest, are held accountable someday. Bondi should be disbarred.

crazy cat lady's avatar

damn right she should be disbarred. she has violated more ethics canons than there are ethics canons. i was once a very proud employee of the dept of justice. now i just want to cry.
