I was at a Tesla protest in Ohio on Saturday. There were over 1000 people.

April 5th should be bigger around the country! I think it will be great timing after tomorrow and they’ve got a lot of locations organized!

Excited to hear there was such turnout in Ohio. I lived in Columbus for about 25 years and it went from solidly blue to purple to…just about red except in the very interior.

TLO's avatar

Hoping so. We're making signs and are ready to march.

If your protesting against Musk I think it's working. In yesterdays headlines "Elon Musk Vows to Prosecute Anti-Tesla Protest Organizers—'Time to Arrest". He might try and stop the organizers but he can't stop "We The People". Fight On!!!

RB Mc's avatar

Yes, it is working! Last night, Musk's attempt to buy an election in Wisconsin FLOPPED big time. "Bring it On", indeed!

Jean:

I was at Easton Tesla also on Saturday. Thanks for your effort.

April 5th is a combining of many movements together: 50/50, Indivisible, Women's March, etc. Hoping that we see many many people in the streets.

I, too, hope that we don't get to option #7. But my ancestors did it, and they procured their freedom from a tyrant king instead of a tyrant "wannabe kingpin."

Thank you for this, I am copy pasting onto my notes and have been doing all of these!!!

I have a few items in addition-

- step one in my "happy warrior" path (Adam had used that term): hosting a "Salad and Signmaking"open house tomorrow afternoon- we are putting out salads and bread and cookies, and art materials and a bunch of friends from my gym, neighborhood, etc are coming to make signs for the demonstrations!

-Phone banking through indivisble.org (did for WI court)

-handing out small action flyer with indivisible.org and 5 calls app with qr codes - carry in my purse!

-bulletin board on fence with same flyer, rally information

-trying to get friends together to go to rallies....

-chat with pretty much anybody re what's happening, how they feel, what doing, would they like help downloading 5 apps

Signalgate isn’t old news….. if it is kept in the forefront maybe something will happen. I’m not ready to give up on doing what I can to protecting the service members in my family

debra arnold's avatar

Absolutely! So glad I joined the live chat! Adam, I’ve been busy for a few days and didn’t make for the news; these law firms capitulating to Trump is over the edge, and worse is the innocent man here legally in prison in El Salvador and no one is going to retrieve him! We can’t let that one go! Enough!

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

It’s really awful

debra arnold's avatar

What can we do in this situation? Any ideas

Laura's avatar

What can we do to help him? And I know he can't be the only person there but he is the person who has been identified. Does anyone know of a movement started to help him legally, help his family, send someone to get him out?

Darcy Malarchik's avatar

Thank you for stressing that point. The identity politics are a dangerous distraction that are natural to the human animal - we form factions and fight. But that’s not America. We have a higher calling, here. Democracy and freedom.

I learned from being married to a soldier! I guess they’re not very nice terms. But ya know! Sometimes….it becomes exhausting to self-censor. This group is so forgiving, it feels like a place where you can comment and not be attacked.

Well I'll tell your guest that since being in the Air Force Law Enforcement specialty code, I gained a great affinity with civilian Law Enforcement, and so much respect, I just sat with my mouth open watching Jan 6th Capitol attack and could not believe what I was seeing. I can say that since then I haven't felt anything normal, 9/11, Covid 19, and then Jan 6th. I can't find words to express the pain I have felt for these brave people in the Capitol police and all Law Enforcement defending the capital that day.

McTeel's avatar

Great job guys! Keep fighting!

Darcy Malarchik's avatar

Adam this is my very biggest concern - with the law firms. I do not think people understand. Both you and the Advisory Opinions podcast from the Dispatch keep making this point and I’m so glad. This is like 1930’s Germany stuff.

Elizabeth Christman's avatar

I agree! But at least some are standing up and winning in court!

Darcy Malarchik's avatar

Thank God for those firms, and people with moral courage and character!!

P A Williams's avatar

I've been saying this since they went after the Inspectors General at the beginning, it was so Hitleresque

Darcy Malarchik's avatar

It feels as though we are approaching the Reichstag’s Enabling Act of 1933 with all of these executive orders. I did not like this when Obama did it. But Trump is a whooooooole different ballgame! His motives are not clean.

Darcy Malarchik's avatar

Also Congress is attempting to pass legislation ceding their own authority to the President. There is a great CSPAN clip from three days ago with Comer just stuttering his way through questions.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/30/opinion/perkins-coie-trump.html

great article by Keker et al firm appealing to big law et al to join them in amicus brief to support the Perkins Coie case against the executive order against their law firm.

They and Wilmer Hale and Jenner and Block as well are fighting the executive orders against their firms in court.

ACTION: A lawyer friend advised that we all call any law firm we work with and ask if they have signed/ are signing the amicus brief.

This week I called my lawyer's firm to ask and left a message saying I hope so and I'm out if not.

I happily got confirmation they had already signed the amicus brief.

Today in the NYT I read another article by the granddaughters, also lawyers, of the Paul Weiss (first firm to cave in and did so immediately) - they wrote in disgust that their grandfather's firm, he was the founder, completely violated the principles to which he dedicated the firm.
