Worried …. That we’re being led by an idiot who bankrupted his own companies. Who decided to trust him with our country? Mess. Total mess.

John/ Bring It On 🀠🌡πŸͺ–'s avatar

Adam, when the non-violent protest get massive in size, do you think that law enforcement and military will stand down regardless of the tyrants orders to shoot?

I do believe Trump hates our country. As Rome burns Caesar golfs!!!

These tariffs are the one thing that is going to blow up in the tyrants orange face. No if's, and's, or but's about it. Well Done, Donald!!!

Headline 2 days ago: Elon Musk 'being driven visibly insane' by anti-Tesla protests. IT'S WORKING, KEEP IT UP!!!

If you want to do something, today is the day to do it: April 5th on Saturday 50 Protests + 50 States https://bsky.app/profile/50501movement.bsky.social, Handsoff2025.com, https://indivisible.org/, https://www.womensmarch.com/

I don’t believe our military would shoot our civilians

Michelle Jordan's avatar

I sure hope you're right about that. I have read about a country in which the military just got fed up and told the dictator NO; I sincerely hope that can happen here.

Warden Gulley's avatar

I certainly hope that you are correct. There are Trump sympathizers and Proud Boy devotees within the ranks but I have no idea how many and what positions of power they may hold. What happens when the Trump-appointed commander yells "Open fire" upon the crowd and the soldiers do not follow his command? I sincerely hope we do not arrive at that point but there is evidence that some in the Project 2025 imperium have considered the possibility of blood in the streets. This quote from Politico regarding Kevin Roberts, the President of the Heritage Foundation and part of Project 2025 -

"The leader of a conservative think tank orchestrating plans for a massive overhaul of the federal government in the event of a Republican presidential win said that the country is in the midst of a β€œsecond American Revolution” that will be bloodless β€œif the left allows it to be.”

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts made the comments Tuesday on Steve Bannon’s β€œWar Room” podcast, adding that Republicans are β€œin the process of taking this country back.”

I can imagine what Heritage Foundation President Roberts was thinking. It portends the end of civil society.

OV's avatar

Heritage Foundation is a bonafide terrorist organization! We should take them at their word!

steve's avatar

I think that they might. Cult members do not reason like normal humans. I hope I am wrong.

P Weisbeck's avatar

Recall 4 dead in Ohio. Not beyond the realm of possibility.

Debra Garries's avatar

Isn't there a line they can call if they're asked to do something illegal? And the military might not but the National Guard has .. In Ohio, in the 60s.

Martha's avatar

Thank you for responding. This is a lingering concern for those of us who are protesting. I very much hope that the protests will continue. The main reason is that it gives us a sense of community, solidarity and optimism. At a time when a mentally ill tyrant is burning the place to the ground (yes, he is exactly who I knew he would be), we need each other!

Susan J's avatar

You weren’t even born yet, but to those of us who remember May 4, 1970, it is very real ‼️ I was in high school, it is burned in my brain. When my children were in college, it was a nagging anxiety. My son was at VMI on 9-11-2001 when trucks rolled onto post and every student who had completed advance camp disappeared, taken to fill overseas duty positions. I know how hard the military tries to protect civilians, but if ordered by the CIC what would they do ? I ask my child this all the time. My father(Navy 1946-1950, Marine Corp 1950-54, Korean War veteran)always said, β€œevery Marine knows he answers to the CIC, but a GOOD Marine knows that even the CIC answers to a higher power. DO NOT compromise your integrity for anything !” The armed forces is a natural draw for paramilitary nut jobs, and works very hard to weed out extremists, but these extremists are very good liars and very good at hiding their deceit. Just one can wreck havoc. There are many examples. I even know one military psychologist that is a sociopath, but still got past screenings. Our fears are well founded.

Catherine Loeb's avatar

I am glad to hear that. But, I'm almost more worried about a crazed MAGA person taking matters into their own hands. And, I do believe it is likely they have more guns that those of us protesting do.

WHAT???? How did that slip past the media?

Carol B.'s avatar

Raissa - I wrote a reply but it disappeared when your link to the news popped in (my computer, like my brain, is old and can only do one thing at a time). In any case, thanks for enlightening me. I'll go read it forthwith.

What about their oath to the Constitution? Empty at this point?

steve's avatar

If Musk gets thrown off the government welfare rolls with Space X, he will be living in a dryer box. LOL!!

Marty Smith's avatar

Is that just desserts? or is it just deserts? What goes 'round comes 'round!

steve's avatar

I think the American military will fire on anyone they are having been ordered to do so. They had no clue as to who they were firing on with Hegseth, Vance, Rubio, Gabbard and the rest of the stooge ignorant clowns on that chain. They could have been bombing Hootie and the Blowfish as far as they were concerned. The Hague will sort this out in later years. The same as Hitler's brood. Good will win!!

Richard Breining's avatar

One cannot hate what one doesn't give a damn about!

BW's avatar

Those that voted for him are seeing what a disaster it is. Unless you are full on MAGA, you didn't vote for this and now you see evidence that he's not competent.

Kelly's avatar

And yet he’s golfing…. While the economy blows up. Fitting.

steve's avatar

While American servicemen's bodies are being returned to the United States. But they are losers according to him!!

Warden Gulley's avatar

Correction: Suckers and losers.

Teri Reid's avatar

He hates all of us who served. That’s been obvious since his first term.

Yeah, and Trump plays golf while our future is brought home to be buried.

steve's avatar

Casinos......that could not lose money if they needed to.

Adam the president also has not visited the victims of fires in N.C something he and his ilk criticized Biden for relentlessly. Hasn't been to the south where tornadoes have greatly impacted people and killed a few. Now they want to eliminate FEMA. Our Gov. in Florida wants to eliminate property taxes. What state revenue will we have to fight hurricane damage without these?

BTW did you hear that David Jolly wants to run for Gov of Fla? I'm good with that. We will soon be the position the entire country will be in if all of this goes through.

Ryal's avatar

Jolly spoke at a Democratic town hall in St. Pete a few weeks ago. He was great, and I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

Catherine Ely's avatar

I would too. But I’m going to hold that thought because Daniella Levine Cava may run. Her polling is way better right now but I have a wait and see attitude right now. I am a left leaning independent and Jolly might’ve more Indy leaning too. Might’ve more palatable to Indy’s in Floriduh

Kelly Holland's avatar

You said everything I wanted to say! Thank you! I am holding back fear, channeling my anger, restoring my resolve and determination. Taking a page from you and Cory Booker. I’ll be brave. I’ll follow hard after truth and not be silent.

lynn sargent's avatar

Kelly - I could not sleep at all last night after finding out those poor 4 soldiers who gave their lives.....coming "home" and who was there for them?? NOT the xxxxxxxxxx playing golf!!!! Can you imagine???? Yes we need to follow Adam - Cory - Rachel.....ones who are not afraid to tell us TRUTH....

Kelly Holland's avatar

Standing with ya! We are better together. We will not give up!

Jim Schrankel's avatar

Thank you Adam for your words of encouragement. I’m a 77 year old Vietnam Vet going to my first protest rally tomorrow. Never in my life did I think I would have to defend my country again, against itself……..

Adam Kinzinger's avatar

Jim thanks so much for your service. You nam guys have a special spot in my heart

Cindy Battie's avatar

Adam I am married to one who was on the ground in Nam for USAF. Now 81 after amazing career ending as a J6 he is so angry and upset. He tells everyone how no Trump ever served in the military especially Don during VN

Joan Bailey's avatar

I too, at 74, am going to my first protest rally tomorrow. It seems kind of strange that we’ve come to this point but it’s a pivotal point in our country.

Go Buckeyes!'s avatar

Let’s goooooo! Heroes at rallies tomorrow!! I am going to my first too but I am not a vet!

Rebecca S's avatar

Thank you. Welcome!!!! We are like siblings who fight like cats and dogs but when someone (Trump) comes to attack our brother we join forces to save our democracy. He is trying to destroy it. We need to speak up loudly while we still can.

MzNicky in East Jesus, TN's avatar

I’m 72, and this isn’t my first protest rally by a long shot! πŸ˜€ Going to the Hands-Off event here downtown tomorrow with a passel of fellow former hippie sign-wavers β€” yes, a tribe, sort of! β€” and I’m really invigorated by this latter-day revolutionary vibe.

Ellen Feinberg's avatar

You kick butt and take names tomorrow!

Peter Z's avatar

77, too. Going, with my wife, to a big city, 100 miles away, to participate in the protest there.

Both of us were growing up in the USSR and we know where Trump is leading us.

Phyllis Logan's avatar

Thank you for your service! Little did I know at my age (80) I would be in the streets with my signs, bullhorn, yelling my lungs out to tell the world NO, not now, not ever will I just sit idly by and watch as the American Nero torches our country.

Teri Reid's avatar

Right there with you, sir.

Teri Reid, Retired Army Nurse

Ellen Feinberg's avatar

Thank you for your service.

Exactly as you say Brother am I...

Warden Gulley's avatar

That's priceless. Thank you.

Susan J's avatar

Thank you for showing up - again ❣️and thank you for coming home πŸ₯° I have been to other rallies, do not my first, but when I mentioned that I never would have imagined that I would be spending my 70’s standing on a street corner in the rain holding a sign, and chanting rants, it got laughs πŸ˜†funny 🚫 funny πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

This 83 yo gal's first election was 1952. At 11 I made hundreds if I Like Ike signs. That party left me many, many years ago, but I'm still in the game 5 days a week at the Bexar County Dem Party. I was the oldest Texas delegate in Chicago and loved your speech. At BCDP we're getting calls daily from Rs coming over to sanity. You are a true hero and I have the greatest respect for everything you've done and are doing.

Richard Breining's avatar

God, I wish there was a Democratic Party in my county that I could join! But, alas, there is not. Maybe I should go and start it up!

Lucille Sanchez-corea's avatar

So glad you’re getting calls πŸ’•

I’m waiting for many of my good intelligent friends to callπŸ™πŸ»

Warden Gulley's avatar

thank you for your commitment. I'm impressed.

Lynn me also!! just turned 72 and very scared...especially after 4 Star General was fired today.......

So how’s everyone’s 401k doing? Wonder why we’re heading for a recession? It’s because recessions are good for people with lots of money. It’s possible this administration is intentionally tanking the economy. Unemployment, mortgage foreclosures, businesses, banks fail and all those distressed assets get sold at a fraction of their value. Guess who snaps them up and makes obscene profits on them? People with money! And guess who bails out everybody for their losses especially the banks that made highly leveraged loans? Us taxpayers, (2008-2009). What we’re seeing is another mass redistribution of wealth into the hands of those who are already obscenely rich. Fewer and fewer people will control more and more wealth. All aided and abetted by a Congress that does nothing and a Court that co-signs everything the executive branch does. Welcome to the new and improved America compliments of the orange kleptocracy.

Jeanne Schultz's avatar

Laura Loomer is also insane.

Jeanne Schultz's avatar

Trump doesn't care about anyone but Trump.

Debbie E's avatar

This is exactly what Kamala Harris said. The guardrails are no longer there. There is nobody to tell him NO. And let's stop saying "he's only saying it, he won't do it." Donald Trump is a classic Narcissist. Everything he does is to feed his NPD and until or unless the Republicans denounce him, and the media truthfully portrays him, then this is not the worst of what we'll see.

Richard Breining's avatar

If what he says is a good thing, he will never do it. If what he says is a bad thing, he will always do it. When he expresses a desire to serve a third term, everyone had better believe he will attempt to do that in every way that he can.

Debbie E's avatar

I absolutely agree. The question is, will he be stopped?

Dale Oak's avatar

Excellent video. Thank you for all you do.

Debbie Rakestraw's avatar

Completely agree the Dems should be in DC talking - to each other, to the press, to the public!!!

Joan Bailey's avatar

I agree too, but why aren’t they saying anything, except for Booker?

Richard Breining's avatar

Likely because they're using the excuse "we're in the minority and can't stop it anyway" as an excuse to go home during the break. Too bad, So sad for the rest of us... πŸ˜’

Beverly Smiles ga's avatar

It is , of course, DJT’s need of power. I think it’s worse than that. He and rich friends, are gonna buy stocks on the low, buy up abandoned businesses and farm landβ€” just like the Great Depressionβ€” the rich acquired all, at cents on the dollar, and now we the people lost. It’s cruel and on purpose- that is the evil of it.

Susan J's avatar

I think you are absolutely correct. His plan is for farmers to lose everything so that he and his developer friends can grab everything on the cheap, destroy the land, and reap as much as they can choke out if the rest of us.

BW's avatar

Exactly, my Trump voting family members are seeing the light! The past few days of the market tanking has their attention! I have welcomed their change and not been nasty even though I'm furious and disgusted with their choices.

Debbie Rakestraw's avatar

PLEASE - we must create guardrails that others like Trump et al can't get around and result in this kind of situation again!

BW's avatar

My Trump voting brother has had enough. He told me today that this is nuts. Trump is insane and must be stopped. Congress needs to stop him. He claims he didn't understand that Trump would do the things he's doing.

Joan Fregapane's avatar

Even after Trump warned everyone? It’s amazing how deliberately β€˜deaf’ people can be until reality hits them hard.

Richard Breining's avatar

Be sure to welcome one more soul to the Sane side! Too many of them claimed "he won't do that. He's just saying that." when we discussed our concerns with them before the election. So now they are all so surprised! πŸ˜’

BW's avatar

Believe me, I'm commiserating with him even though I'm ticked off that he wouldn't listen to me. I knew the flip would happen for him over the stock market and that's when the cracks started. The past 2 days have opened the crack up so he can see reality. I want to encourage him to vote to save democracy.

Susan J's avatar

Like he didn’t state it straight out 10 years ago. My brother also voted for him because he was antiabortion πŸ™„my brother is not an uneducated idiot, (a CPA, CMA)semi-retired company owner, but I just can’t fathom the stupidity.
