He was the living embodiment of a true Christian. Giving brotherhood 100% of the time. This comment from a Jew who admired him and his wife immensely.

Thankfully he died while Biden was President. So he will be honored appropriately. The next guy wouldn’t do squat

And let’s all pray for a greater than zero chance that Carter’s humanity, empathy, and character becomes an inspiration for the next guy

Let's hope the stark contrast between the two Presidents serves as a reminder to the general public of what we can and should have in our President.

Adam, what you wrote absolutely captures the essence of President Carter. Thank you. He was a national treasure… a man of dignity, humility, faith… one who embodied what it means to be a leader, and yet never lost sight of the fact that he stood beside not above. We were so fortunate to have him.

Adam, you wrote a beautiful tribute to a great man! Someone said there is only one question that matters in human life: did I leave the world a better or worse place? There is no question that Jimmy Carter left the world a better place through his faith, values and commitment to helping others. Rest in Peace, Jimmy Carter!

The very first president I was honored to vote for at the age of 19. His presidency was not the best, but without a doubt he was the best of us. He humbly acted with honor, integrity and real Christian values. He exemplified the desire for all human rights to be the forefront of his life after he left Washington DC. People joked about Mr. Carter for being soft, and he lost to the big Cowboy Reagan in 1980, but it is more about what he did after his term that showed the depth of his kindness and care. RIP Mr. President, God will greet you in Heaven along with your sweet wife, Roselyn. 🇺🇸🙏

Jimmy Carter was the first president I voted for too! We celebrated his win by eating peanuts! The Panama Canal was treatied to Panama during his presidency. https://www.npr.org/2024/12/29/1161146405/president-jimmy-carter-legacy-panama

And the Allman Brothers Band were huge supporters!

A life's worth is measured in who was lifted up; he lifted many up - and progressed our democracy towards saving the planet and overcoming the racial divide. He did suffer from being a DC outsider - relationships matter - and from Sec Baker making a secret deal with Iran to hold off on the hostage release until Regan was inaugurated - but his faith and commitment to making a difference - and tenacity - continued well beyond office. Thank you Jimmy and Roselynn...and Adam for your memorializing him - you are another GOOD truth telling man.

Adam, this might have been the most beautiful thing you've ever written. President Carter was the best; before, during, and after his Presidency. You have gone to the heart of his life of service. My hat is off to both of you.

Great picture of him. His smile was genuine as was his desire to serve others. He continued to serve long after his time in office.

In the Fall of 2013 my son who was a Junior at Emory University decided to run in the “Snickers Albany, Ga” marathon….we live in Atlanta suburbs and it was a qualifying race for him to get into the Boston Marathon! Being somewhat disorganized we waited to last minute to book a hotel reservation and when we could not get a room in Albany, GA where the race was we were forced to get a room at the Best Western in Americus, Ga 45 min NW of Albany ….when we checked in at the Best Western there on the front counter was poster letting hotel guests know that President Carter would be was in “residence” the following Sunday morning at his Maranatha Baptist Church in nearby Plains, Ga! Though my son was totally wiped out from having run his first 26 mile marathon the day before I made him and his sister get up extra early so we could get into the church for that Sunday ceremony!! We had to get their early because the Carters were still under Secret Service Protection and all attendees and there cars had to be checked!! Fortunately, we were able to attend!! It was a truly special day and we got to get our photo taken with Rosalyn and Jimmy….remember him telling the story of this former peanut farmer meeting then one of the richest men in the world Mexico’s Carlos Slim ….he was raising funding for his mission to get rid of Guinea Eye Worm disease!! It was a moving story and in that moment I realized as did my kids what a special man we were in the presence of!! RIP President Carter!! 😢
