I’ve stopped watching mainstream TV since Trump was elected. We don’t have a cable service we just stream so I got out of the habit of watching mini shows that I just used to turn on mindlessly or were convenient to tune into. It’s more of a process with streaming, but it’s better in the long run.
Absolutely, Heather Cox Richardson, Robert Reich, I subscribe to Adam, I subscribe to Glen Kirchner. I just wonder how long it’s going take for this current regime to silence even this method to communicate with each other and get information, true information.
Free & Fair Elections❓ The last bastion of hope is "FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS". It's up to us to keep the elections fair. If you can afford it DONATE to the organizations that are doing the legal fights for free and fair elections. These groups are fighting the Trump Admin. virtually every day:
I just googled Paramount Global and it's subsidiaries.
If she caves to trump I will stop being a user of anything related to that company. No more CBS, no more anything Paramount, including Pluto (an ad-supported free-to-viewer streaming service).
Anyone that doesn't have the spine to stand up to bullies doesn't get money because of me -directly or indirectly.
To me, boycotting 60 Minutes is like shooting the messenger, and it plays perfectly into Trump’s hands — get rid of news shows that educate the masses. Instead insist that she stands firm and fights Trump in Court.
I no longer watch anything except for PBS on my iPad. John Oliver, Seth Meyers, & other political satirists.
No mainstream media. got disgusted when tRUMP went after George Stefanopolus( apologies if I misspelled his name ). Then he sued CBS/Paramount over the 60 minutes interview . I was finished with commercial Tv & gave up watching cable.
I’m disgusted by the way the president sues, appeals, and yells “witch hunt” for attention & money .
He changes lawyers the way the rest of us change our socks. He’s a disgrace and a national embarrassment .
Could the team quit and form a new show, 3600 Seconds with a digital clock, and for it to be streamed for free to everyone because there are enough people who subscribe to fund the information feed?
The only network worth watching that remains, because hasn’t yet caved, is NBC/MSNBC and it is the only one I watch. Rachel Maddow, Nicolle Wallace, Chris Hayes, and especially Lawrence O’Donnell don’t pull punches. Lawrence calls Trump stupid 9-10 times every night. It’s a joy to watch.
I agree. It may not become the rainbow farts from Faux News short-skirted unicorns that many of us has come to loathe. What we’ll get is what we won’t see or hear - the story that won’t be reported, the truly doctored interview, the absence of pertinent facts that could make or break public opinion. Starting to see it on CNN from reporters I never thought would pull their punches
I'm with you, Cindy. I would also be interested in obtaining a list of other Paramount businesses, in order to boycott or avoid patronzing them, as well.
Google "Paramount Global Subsidiaries". You will get a complete list of them, mostly named Paramount{something, such as "Paramount+", etc), CBS, MTV, PLUTO, etc.
Thank you for this. I don't have cable and don't pay for any of Paramount's streaming services, but I wasn't aware that PLUTO is also one of theirs. That one is available to me on Roku--but I will proceed to remove it from my Favorites. Thanks again!
I hope all the great 60 Minute reporters leave. They may as well. The integrity of their show is now compromised. So, so sad. It has been an impactful show for decades.
I'm running out of networks to support, but I'm put my money where my mouth is... PBS, NPR, Substack, Bulwark, Heather, Joyce, you............... and I'm grateful there are more like you to keep adding to my list :)
It's probably going to be up to their followers to totally support them, and maybe some states, but I'm in FL, so probably no state support here ... sad day :(
60 Minutes was one of the few that I have always trusted. It had integrity and courage. I will not watch it anymore nor anything that Paramount puts out. I grew up with a black & white TV with rabbit ears on top. I served on submarines for much of my life. Cutting out Paramount and 60 minutes is easy for me.
I have loved and watched 60 Minutes ever since I was a kid. About 50 years and even I can’t believe that! When executive producer Bill Owens stepped down after 26 years, he made it clear that 60 minutes had already been compromised.
Right on! My husband is Danish. He’s always telling me, national or regional strikes are highly effective. When I lived in England, a transit strike would solve many issues. It was never just trains—trains, buses, taxis, delivery trucks, trash haulers. It would bring the leaders to their knees within days.
Sign it and share it with everyone you can. This could really be impactful. Read about the Solidarity Strike in Poland in 1981. And they didn't even have the internet then.
Well said, Adam. This is complete and utter BS. I feel like I'll never stop saying, "OMFFFFGGG, I cannot believe people are doing this," but, I just cannot believe the never-ending cowardice, spinelessness, and utter inability to stand the f*ck UP to a man who is basically a giant toddler, who, as you said, is once again "throwing a tantrum." It is a sad, sad commentary on what our country has become. Thanks for the great piece, and for calling this out, Adam. Keep up the great work.
Spot on, Adam. Unfortunately, a lot of my favorite shows are on CBS. I'll miss them, but this is much more important. The other issue is the advertiser revenues. Write letters (not e-mails. Nobody ever tripped over a bag of e-mail!) to the advertisers expressing your outrage, and intent to not buy their products. That should also include Comedy Central, BET, Showtime Networks, Nickelodeon, MTV and the film studio Paramount Pictures. Make CBS and all Paramount products poison to any and all that advertise on her network. If money is all Redstone's widow respects, that is how we must respond.
Is Redstone in charge of her billions and life? Or is she just another weak person allowing trump to control her billions. The money is never “enough” if a grown woman is letting a sociopath control her fun. She needs to walk away from him and relax by the pool. I’m grateful every day to have my humble pool to chill by, to own my home and own a business I love. I owe no favors and no one owes me favors. My bucket is full…and I’m not in that 1% club. Redstone’s life is as pathetic as trump’s.
Shari Redstone's primary business address, as indicated by her role as President and CEO of National Amusements, is 846 University Avenue, Norwood, MA 02062.
We need an organized campaign, everyone can buy ten packs of red/white/blue pre-stamped postcards that can be sent to people with either notes of encouragement or denunciation.
Send her a personal note, just thinking of her, caving to Trump, as you cancelled anything to do with her business. Cheers!
I think dropping my membership to Paramount is the most effective move. The more she loses, the less it will sell for on the open market. We can watch her shows on you tube.
Thanks for the article. Trump will declare it a win but he asked for $20 bil and got $16mil for his presidential "library". Paramount should not have paid out $16.00.
Hey Adam, I don’t think you know how serious people are who are out on Substack. He won the election and I haven’t watched CNN, MSNBC, or any national news on local stations since November. I am done with them. They normalized him through the election process, as if everything he was saying sounded perfectly sane. I probably miss 60 minutes the most, but I got out of the habit. I find my news sources here. Jim Acosta is a staple and if he is not around then it’s Don Lemon or Harry Sisson and now Terry Moran. My neighbor still watches Rachel on MSNBC. Maga stopped watching 60 Minutes long ago because they were told that was woke media. Well, if they ever did a negative story about dumb dumb, then they would boycott. I think I’ve read that they stopped watching CBS Sunday Morning too.
MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow are worth watching. I hope that Joy Reid and Ari Melser are still telling it like it is. Excuse any mispellings, please.
The entire situation in America is nauseating. The guardrails are gone, thanks to Roberts (and his gang), and our beautiful experiment is failing bigly. The irony of it all is we are celebrating our nation’s Independence Day, yet we are going forward almost 250 years later, allowing ourselves to be shackled by cowed and/or corrupt shakers and movers and “rulers” with eyes wide open. University leaders threatened, journalists threatened, partisan politicians assassinated, concentration camps built, elected leaders assaulted, law making in the middle of the night, and none of it is front page news. It is heartbreaking at best for any true patriot.
If she caves, we'll all stop watching 60 Minutes. Period.
I’ve stopped watching mainstream TV since Trump was elected. We don’t have a cable service we just stream so I got out of the habit of watching mini shows that I just used to turn on mindlessly or were convenient to tune into. It’s more of a process with streaming, but it’s better in the long run.
I find more trusted journalists and resources here on Substack.
Absolutely, Heather Cox Richardson, Robert Reich, I subscribe to Adam, I subscribe to Glen Kirchner. I just wonder how long it’s going take for this current regime to silence even this method to communicate with each other and get information, true information.
I'm with you. I subscribe to the same honest voices...and also Paul Krugman who is fearless.
Robert Reich!!! He puts out articles pertinent to the U.S. everyday.
The domino's have been falling:
Executive Branch✔️ Legislative Branch✔️ Judicial Branch✔️

The King is back. Why are we celebrating Independence Day?
I just found Paul Krugman and subscribed. I read his article about Medicaid.
I’ll have to look him up!!
I recently discovered Glenn Kirchner on YouTube. He is good!
"Because... Justice Matters."
Ditto here -- spot on, Michelle!
I hope a long time, they are too busy with other crap and that's a great thing.
How far does this country have to fall before we see a little bravery from these networks? It really shows how bad the Corp greed is in this country.
It's scary. As a journalist myself, I worry a lot.
Absolutely! Substack/Bulwark are rapidly becoming the new home for defenders of liberty and the free press!
I am not familiar with Bulwark and will check into it -- thanks!
The Bulwark is always filled with great columns by a host of writers. Incredible writing to help connect the dots.
She caved, anybody surprised? The greed and cowardice never ends!!!
Yeah, I see that she did. Another example of the wealthy only interested in their pocketbooks, the rest of us be damned.
Throughout my life I have said that "greed is the Achilles Heel of capitalism."
Now I am beginning to think that it might also be the Achilles Heel of democracy!
How sad for the rest of us!
Why watch 60 Minutes when you know the show is going to be reviewed by the tyrant before hand?
Same with us
To me, boycotting 60 Minutes is like shooting the messenger, and it plays perfectly into Trump’s hands — get rid of news shows that educate the masses. Instead insist that she stands firm and fights Trump in Court.
I haven't turned on the news since the election either. I get most of my news from substack and flyover.
Same here
I no longer watch anything except for PBS on my iPad. John Oliver, Seth Meyers, & other political satirists.

Yeah I have too stupid bunch of greedy people all for damn lies how sad. She has no morals
Stop watching the one show where you can get facts? Boycott the rest of the lineup.
Just read in the NYT that she caved. Trump won. Let's see if "60 Minutes" can stick with the facts now.
I’d like to say 60 Minutes could find another network if all the team quit and defected. But where? ABC caved. Fox? NBC hasn’t been sued - yet.
Could the team quit and form a new show, 3600 Seconds with a digital clock, and for it to be streamed for free to everyone because there are enough people who subscribe to fund the information feed?
Good questions.
Here's the link to the NYT article, if you can open it: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/02/business/media/paramount-trump-60-minutes-lawsuit.html?campaign_id=60&emc=edit_na_20250702&instance_id=157671&nl=breaking-news®i_id=40645173&segment_id=201057&user_id=8f47b41d48e0905b8614ce8e893b4a9c

CBS and Paramount completely!
Done. Months ago.

She’s gonna cave! 🙄 The only way to negotiate is extortion. the 60 minutes team has to leave and start an alternative.
And so she did!
Try dropping Paramont + all together!
She caved, anybody surprised? The greed and cowardice never ends!!!
60 Minutes and any other company that she owns.
And also stop watching anything she’s connected to in any way!
Looks like she did cave…not to him directly but to his “library”. Pathetic.
The crew at 60 Minutes have been disgusted with her. They called her out but she chose to settle with Trump anyway.
I hope all the great 60 Minute reporters leave. They may as well. The integrity of their show is now compromised. So, so sad. It has been an impactful show for decades.
He cannot even spell "library!" You are so correct — This is totally pathetic.
Can you imagine what will be in his “library “?
Pictures of him holding up his freshly signed EO’s and his golf scores? He is pitiful!!!
She caved, anybody surprised? The greed and cowardice never ends!!!
I'm running out of networks to support, but I'm put my money where my mouth is... PBS, NPR, Substack, Bulwark, Heather, Joyce, you............... and I'm grateful there are more like you to keep adding to my list :)
I've donated to PBS and NPR, but how do we save them?
It's probably going to be up to their followers to totally support them, and maybe some states, but I'm in FL, so probably no state support here ... sad day :(
I'm in Floriduh too. Home of the Everglades concentration camp. Poor runny deshitstain, he's been trying so hard to get the orange baboon's attention.
Same!

It's time to boycott every fucking thing with a National Day of Strike, a week would be better.
Right on! My husband is Danish. He’s always telling me, national or regional strikes are highly effective. When I lived in England, a transit strike would solve many issues. It may not work here, we're to greedy!!!

Well that's where all our problems started--too many greedy SOB's.
And as Americans, we can do with a LOT less! And the sacrifice is worth it.
I am sick of feeling so helpless...all we have is strength in numbers!

She DID cave- 16 million to a library built on the smoldering ruins of our country. May she get everything she deserves. I will miss you, 60 Minutes.
DITTO!!!
Thanks I needed this read to remind me there are other important issues facing America. Again another good job.
Well said, Adam. This is complete and utter BS. Excellent idea - write to the advertisers!!! Thanks for bringing that up. :)
Brilliant. QUESTION FOR ADAM: How many letters will get a Legislators attention? Stats say seven USPS letters, will get a CEO’s attention.
Is Redstone in charge of her billions and life? Or is she just another weak person allowing trump to control her billions. Does Country 1st have contact info for her so we can individually express our opinions and feelings about this?

Might be too late. Truth crumbles.
Thank you Mark!
I think dropping my membership to Paramount is the most effective move. The more she loses, the less it will sell for on the open market. We can watch her shows on you tube.
I wish I had Paramount stock - so I could dump it - cb
Just watched"Hannah Arendt" on PBS American Experience. Looked as if I was watching what is going on in our country today. Scary!!
Keep Public PBS & NPR Radio alive. If Paramount will not tell the truth- someone has too!
Thanks for the article. Trump will declare it a win but he asked for $20 bil and got $16mil for his presidential "library". Paramount should not have paid out $16.00.
I'll avoid anything tied to Paramount Global.
