Trump is Physically, Mentally, and Morally Weak
He Cosplays tough guy, and hopes we buy it.
Should we fear Trump? Not really, as a man he’s absolutely no threat to anyone. As a movement who believes his mask? Yes. This is important as we proceed into the awful election year nobody wants to live through.
Let’s review some facts. The MAGA movement is energized by one thing, and only one thing… making the left and RINOS like me fearful. They, somewhat understandably, feel as if they have been left out, pushed aside, and ignored for a long time. To an extent this is true. Their traditional values have been scoffed at and their towns and states are often called “flyover country.” It’s a humorous joke, mainly pointing out the large size of our nation and the many sparsely populated areas that make it up. The problem is, the farmers, factory workers, and middle class that live here have been left behind by an economy rapidly changing. We need to remember this and have deep sympathy, I represented a struggling area of Illinois for 12 years. This is very real.
In a normal America, a leader would hear those voices and give them life, through righteous anger with a path of inspiration and aspiration. Ronald Reagan and even Barack Obama gave voice to these hopes and dreams. They won resoundingly. However, just as people are open to inspiration, their anger can be abused and twisted for a sick personal agenda. That’s what we are seeing in Donald Trump. The legitimate grievances have been twisted into an “us vs them” war, where the chief enemy is not Russia, China, or terrorists, but your fellow Americans who live in different areas and think differently than you.
The key to Trumps success has been convincing his base, that he is tough, strong, “says what he means and means what he says.” Of course, he doesn’t. There are many instances we now know where Trump has cast bad views of his base, and even called the real strong people, military members, suckers and losers. He’s a con man, an evildoer and a lunatic.
The problem is, whenever those of us concerned with a second Trump presidency talk about our fear of him, we add fuel to the fire of his appeal to the base. They LOVE that we are afraid, because they think the tables have turned and they are now in control. This is what an authoritarian movement does really well, create a sense of panic, chaos, and inevitability.
The truth is, the chaos exhausts us, and fuels them. In reality, while the outcome of the MAGA movement is concerning, Trump himself is a small, weak, insecure, unstable, unsure, lunatic. He is not strength, he is weakness defined. A truly strong person doesn’t need constant re-affirmation, profuse praise, and throngs of people begging for his attention. A truly strong person sees a vision, presses forward with the vision, and tries to inspire others to follow his lead. In reality, Trump is the follower, echoing the latest outrage on Foxnews so he can stir the anger. He has no vision, no inspiration, no confidence, and not much time left on this Earth.
To truly defeat him and the movement, we must both paint them as a threat to democracy, but also a weak movement with a weak man who can tip over like a canoe if exposed. Trump as a man is no threat. Trump as a man is a vacant child. Not only will this drive him nuts and cause him to burn with more fury, it will shake his barely existing confidence even more. When Trump is cornered he makes mistakes and exposes his weaknesses.
As we press ahead to his embarrassing defeat in November, let’s never forget that Donald is a cornered rat, facing justice, and scared to death. Don’t let him intimidate, and more importantly, don’t lose hope and quit. The only thing that will defeat us is the mirage that he is inevitable. He isn’t.

"When Trump is cornered he makes mistakes and exposes his weaknesses...."
Amen Adam!! These character flaws of his must be exploited incessantly to melt him down. His rant calling for another attack on the United States should he lose in '24 (Dayton, OH speech) must become ground zero for this movement. Enough is enough...
Thanks for ypur insights Adam. Trump has always been afraid of people willing to speak truth to power because he knows he's weak.
Thanks for your work on the Jan 6 committee.
