I just got a good look at Santa in that melt down picture and HE looks like he's not far behind Christian!!!!!! I just took another good look at the picture while leaving this post. This is the photo you save and bring out when he brings his first girl friend to dinner, ya think?
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Christmas is for children and for older people to remember the true meaning of it along with what it was when they were young. My children are grown so I do things for them when I can and they have a need. They have children (my grandchildren and great grandchildren) that they do for.
For those who are saddened at this time because of loss or discouragement, try to find someone to do something for. Even sharing time with a lonely person can be a great blessing.

Sorry you had to move out of Illinois - but you have to protect your beautiful family. I've been in your district and it will always be your district as far as I am concerned. You have amazed me with your leadership and courage - keep up the good work. You didn't sell your soul so there will be better things on your horizon, starting with beautiful Christian. I appreciate the honesty in your writings here on Substack and in your book. You are a good writer, keep it up. But also keep spearheading the effort to save our democracy, and defend our Constitution. We need warriors like you who we can look to for truth and a guiding light. Rest, recharge and reflect this Christmas season.

My family is from Chicago and they were Democrats. But, growing up I didn't pay much attention to that. I have agreed about political issues on both sides over the years, depending. So, I guess being a more Independant thinker has served my well. I do like your honesty and I wish for the coming year that we can get back to some civility in this country. It has been depressing but I try to be hopeful. Have a wonderful holiday season to you and family. Stay safe.
Hey Adam - Thanks for sharing your Christmas thoughts. It will be tough, but I'm trying to unplug my political obsession for a week and enjoy getting ready for our annual Christmas Day breakfast. My brother and I crank out lot of waffles, eggs, and sausage for our friends and family. Its a tradition passed down from our father (going strong at 95). HOWEVER, in 2024, I'm all in on whatever we need to do to save democracy. Lead on friend.

Beautiful. Reminded me of a picture my parents took of me on Santa's lap ~63 years ago. I miss them both. Very Republican to the end yet always laughing about politics with our Democratic neighbors who had kids my age. I am still good friends with my 'big sister' from back then. I learned more about you from reading Oath and Honor so thank you for all you have done for us.
