I'm in shock and so thankful. Something to write in my gratitude journal tonight. Also thankful for you!

THankful for you as well!

I honestly thought Teflon Don would walk away, but I had hopes. Finally. Finally, consequences! Will this be harmful for him in November? That’s the only question now.

Expand full comment

I think on the margins, maybe

Expand full comment

Probably not. The maga cultists are so brainwashed that they would never leave him.

Expand full comment

The Kool-Aid is strong with Trump cultists!

Expand full comment

No, it won’t matter to the MAGA cult, I suppose. Am I imagining there’s a group of people who *would* be swayed by this?

Expand full comment

Folks, how big is the MAGA cult? Media seems to be brainwashing everyone. 50% of voters are INDEPENDENT! I don’t think they’re all MAGA heads

Expand full comment

I keep telling myself there aren’t enough of them to sway a general election. I also thought he would never get elected the first time. so I still have the fear of God in me.

Expand full comment

Well the fear of God can be a good thing; lets all get to to work! 😃

Expand full comment

I tend to agree.

It’s still a good day. It’s still a hit and some will change because of it. Many won’t but it’s still another (((loser lost))) check mark. Cheers 🥂

Yes it was a good day. Let’s pray that justice for the orange man-baby continues to roll on.

The thing is, though, during jury selection he and his lawyers and jury selection experts had the ability to select jurors they thought would be favorable to him. There was the distinct possibility that some of those jurors, with so many counts they could selectively vote him innocent on that he might escape a guilty verdict by getting a hung jury. He didn’t count on all 12 jurors voting guilty 34 times each or 408 guilty votes, a landslide verdict. WHAMMO!!

Expand full comment

Yep! That was the kicker. (Smile on my face) All of them. That is why I feel this will make at least a few people who are not completely cult-i-vized by fox spew to not vote for this fool. Look, I read the transcripts and seen the evidence. Not the media. Corporate news media focused on so much meaningless things simply to report simply to stoke the flames for profit. Even with that reality, to have the verdict of Guilt read 34 times was so Gratifying. It gives me more hope. 👍

Expand full comment

And don't forget that juror #2 answered the pretrial questionnaire that asked "where do you predominantly get your news?" By responding "Truth Social". Seems to me that juror #2's individual guilty verdict demonstrates that the prosecution's case was strong enough to convince that juror of Trump's guilt regardless of that juror's apparent political leanings.

Expand full comment

If that is indeed true of the juror, you are correct in your assumption. I understand it because instead of getting information from media, -although I did watch and read their narratives- I read the transcripts. Provides copies of the evidence and even the discussions on side-bars. Comparing that to what all media’s reporting, there was no question that the proof was so overwhelming that it would have been impossible to explain a not guilty judgment. You should consider the fact that by this time none of the jurors wanted to be there any longer. That could have possibly been a motivator to that (????? Social) idiot. Ps: people have to stop saying “truth” next to a criminal idiots platform. Cheers 🥂

Justice prevailed today, with our SCOTUS though I am fearful that it will not continue to prevail. Fingers crossed and prayers for constitution and country over party

Expand full comment

Yeah, the media did everything they could to play it close didn’t they…. it’s a good day. Enjoy it.

Thank you, Adam!

I’ve been waiting to see your response since the moment the verdicts started rolling in.

I appreciate your pointing out that, if he had been in the military, he would be stripped of his position and security clearance. It’s absolutely critical that he never again obtains clearance again.

Our system of justice does work. It is beyond imagination that Mike Johnson and others are still bowing to his command. What will it take to get these clowns to stop following the felon?

Expand full comment

Sometimes it works. We have 3 big criminal cases still pending: documents case delayed forever by Judge Cannon, Georgia election fraud delayed by Willis’s personal poor judgement. Ah, but the Supreme Court will save us soon by saying T is immune. SCOTUS is supposed to be in the independent 3rd branch of government. Let’sall hang our flags upside down and hope for the best!

Expand full comment

Good points all. If SCOTUS gives Trump ANY immunity at all democracy will be at greater risk than ever. If that happens we will need to ensure the Democrats win in enough down-ballot races this fall to take majorities in the House and the Senate. That would allow Congress to bring impeachment proceedings against Thomas and Alito. A tall order for sure but unless SCOTUS clearly shows, through their ruling, that NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW (including Trump) then the American People need to show them in no uncertain terms how wrong they are! (I may be mistaken but I think Congress is the only entity able to impeach a Supreme Court Justice. I'll appreciate being corrected if I am wrong as I am a big fan of learning something new every day 😉)!

Expand full comment

Richard, I totally agree. The Conservative SCOTUS justices are pushing it to the hilt and acting as if they were above the low. And they are arrogant about it to boot! Time for more reforms!

mis-spell, above the LAW

It will take his finally selecting a VP. They are all performing to see who is most outrageous. I think he may pick someone not in Congress, even maybe Don the Con Jr or a right wing Christian nationalist.

Lots of potential dingbats available. How about someone in a white hood and gown? Just unlimited possibilities everywhere.

Being voted out of office!

All 34 counts. Awesome evidence of the legal system functioning. Why too many weaponize law and order is beyond comprehension. An acquaintance who is republican said they will still vote Republican. Where has effective analysis gone from some? The Republican party is not the Republican Party of the past, yet too many only see the title and ignore the autocracy it’s become.

Indeed. But today is a good day and I am enjoying it.

I’m with you- but I do feel it is a day to celebrate! Accountability is a wonderful

thing! And I’m also happy for Michael Cohen - he idolized a person not worthy of adulation or even respect. It’s true it takes a thief to catch a thief but, I believe, Mike is a thief trying to repair his moral center. This is a grand day! I’m thrilled and I hope the convictions continue. I hope America restores its Checks and Balances and initiates a massive clean up, starting with the Senate and the Supreme Court. I pray Biden wins by a landslide and there is a happy ending to the nightmare that donald trump is and has initiated on this country.

I agree!! I'm celebrating too. 🎉💙🇺🇸

Yes! We can at least celebrate that our justice system works!

Unfortunately, the GOP campaign replied to Larry Hogan, that his campaign is over because he came out right after the verdict, requesting everyone honor our justice system!

Thank you, Adam for being an honorable leader and always advocating for the right thing!

And the GOP claims to be the party of law and order!?!?!?

What a great day for America! Regardless of how it all plays out, he has finally been held criminally accountable for his criminal behavior. Someone has finally slapped him across the face to stop the blather. Of course he won’t shut up but he feels this.

Thank you for posting this today Adam!!I am glad that the jury found Don The Orange 🍊 Con Guilty!!!!!!!Like you said-No One is above the law!!!

I am thankful to the jurors for doing the task they were given. I am also thankful to Judge Merchan for the skill he demonstrated while presiding over the trial. He disciplined tfg when necessary while never giving any grounds to tfg's legal team to demand a mistrial. You are all my heroes!

I’m incredibly stunned and happy, because I was pretty sure that Teflon Don would prevail as usual. I’m going to celebrate for a day.

But of course MAGA has already been preparing for this eventuality and shouting « rigged » blah, blah. Naturally they have no problem with Alito or Thomas. Anita Hill knew exactly what kind of person Clarence Thomas was but but oh well, those crazy women.

I love the way Fox talks about how everyone is suffering from the economy and they blame Biden!! Wake up America!! The corporations are not being regulated. They charge whatever they want. In fact, when Trump was president he removed regulations that Obama had put into place for the railroads. This is why East Palestine, Ohio had that railroad accident. Trump surely cares about people. Give me a break!!!

It’s nice to know reading your comment that there are other people out there that actually know what the …k is going on.

kudos to you!

I have voiced this before on this Substack. American has a free enterprise economy. The president has very little to do with setting prices or regulating supply. Biden also is NOT in charge of the Federal Reserve whose job it is to watch over our economy and set interest rates for the banking industry. If Biden had that kind of power we would be living under an authoritarian or dictatorship. Oh wait, it seems that’s what the maga cultists want. Better watch out what you wish for.

Happy Dance, but not getting too confident. Surely, not every Republican is drinking the kool aid! Some must still be able to see where Trump will take our country and not vote for him. I was raised to be a Republican, until the Trumpster was elected. I voted for him:(. Truly, not too many weeks after the election I started to wane. Six months into his presidency I changed to the Democratic Party. It’s not who I am, but neither is the Republican Party as it is now. I’m not proud that the Speaker lives ten miles from me🤦‍♀️

I feel you. I changed when they nominated his sorry butt in 2016. After 40+ years. Well, I didn’t vote for bush #2.

I switched Parties in 2008 after the financial meltdown, became an Activist and have never looked back. I saw the writing on the Wall then. Plus thanks to Thom Hartmann and so many others who have educated me I know they're the real Deep State they've been accusing US of being all along!!!

I pray that most of America realizes that Fox News is a propaganda station. It is a MAGA station. Laura Ingraham makes me sick!!!

Fox spew is why we’re here. Why I’ll likely never vote Republican again since 2014. Enjoy the day. It’s a good day today. Even with fox spew, peers found him guilty. Cheers 🥂

Shattered Throne

Guilt, undeniable, on every goddamn charge,

A titan toppled, his influence now a mirage.

A scheme to silence the tempest, to maintain his reign,

All to keep his political dreams from being slain.

.

The verdict thundered, a resounding declaration,

A jury saw through his tapestry of fabrication.

Twelve hours of deliberation, they issued the decree,

Trump's fetid fiefdom, laid bare for all to see.

.

Once untouchable, now fettered to his destiny,

Ensnared in his own foul game, a pawn's ignominy.

Records falsified, a tower of transgressions,

His ascent and descent, now forever his obsession.

.

"A farce!" he roared, his voice a harpy's shriek,

A barrage of excuses, his trademark technique.

But truth, unyielding as a hurricane's blast,

Shredded his smokescreen, left him naked and aghast.

.

Biden's brigade smirked, justice long overdue,

A criminal's aspirations, like dust in the wind blew.

"None escape the law," they proclaimed with zeal,

"Face the reckoning, if you dare, your fate now sealed."

.

Hush money, sordid secrets buried deep,

In ledgers tainted with deceit, the truth now leaps.

Stormy and Karen, once specters in the shadows,

Thrust into the spotlight, in a court where justice grows.

.

Cohen's testimony, a treacherous chronicle,

Allegiance fractured, snared in betrayal's shackle.

Eleven false invoices, each a knife in the spine,

To conceal the debt, to keep his power divine.

.

"Handle it," the decree from the ruler on high,

A directive mired in deception, integrity run dry.

Trump's terror of revelation, of public disdain,

Bred this sordid charade, this ill-fated campaign.

.

From shell corporations to Oval Office schemes,

A maze of falsehoods, woven through presidential seams.

Weisselberg's confessions, now part of infamy's lore,

Each fraudulent entry, a step closer to the door.

.

Stormy's account, a lurid tale of unease,

A night that exposed the man, his true nature seized.

A hotel, a chamber, a crude advance,

His desires laid bare, in a tawdry dance.

.

"This scheme," Steinglass proclaimed, "was the crowning key,

To his sullied victory, his rise to ignominy."

Now, the verdict is etched, the jury's decision fine,

Trump's bastion of lies, forever consigned to the brine.

.

E. Jean, Stormy, and Cohen, dauntless heroes thrice bold,

Who confronted the demon, when truth was bought and sold.

They braved the onslaught, the fury, and the fray,

To bring the tyrant to his knees, to make him pay.

Their courage, a beacon, in this darkest of hours,

A tribute to the unwavering might of truth's powers.
