I’m so thankful that they finally food the right thing! I have to wonder whether the Republicans will get it right on whichever next moral imperative they face, though.

I was a life-long Republican until 2016 when my eyes were opened by the nomination of Trump and the subsequent cowardice of Congress when they fell in line behind even his most heinous policy decisions.

I choose to vote against every MAGA Republican at every level of government now, and I donate to campaigns of the opponents of the MAGA Republicans in Congress whenever I can spare a dime.

We have to get these people out of office if the country has a hope of returning to any semblance of normalcy, decency, and integrity. Our Democracy depends upon it!

I’m a Liberal Democrat but I still watch Fox from time to time. Sorry, people can’t say all media is lying. Of course, MSNBC has a left wing lean but they still carry stories that are negative to the left. Cuomo sexual harassment, or Newsom at the French Laundry, or Harris’s poor poll numbers, for examples. But, so many times when Trump did something horrible, it doesn’t even get a mention on Fox. And so often, the commentators on Fox are not even trying to be truthful. Fact, people are dead today from Covid because of Fox lies. Look at 8 PM. Primetime. Jesse Watters and Chris Hayes. What a difference in journalism integrity. Adam, continue calling out Fox. They are harming our country

Remember Fox News admitted in the Carlson lawsuit that it’s not really news, it’s entertainment. That admission pretty much tells you all you need to know about the ‘News’ part.

Alex Jones created "Pizzagate" and inspired Edgar Welch to storm Comet Ping Pong restaurant looking for a child sex-trafficking ring that did not exist.

He fired his assault rifle when they denied its existence, and he got a 4-year sentence.

During a deposition for the Sandy Hook lawsuit, Alex Jones stated,

“I' myself have almost had like a form of psychosis back in the past where I basically thought everything was staged, even though I’ve now learned a lot of times things aren’t staged.”

I think Alex Jones Has a point. MAGA is an illness. Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Jessie Watters are all carriers. Patient Zero is Donny Boy.

It is an air-born disease that enters through the ears and paralyzes the brain.

We need a huge mental Hospital. How many rooms? The 2024 election will provide the number it will be equal to the number of votes for Donald John Trump.

I follow news feeds across the political spectrum, including some from the right wing. Mind you, I hold my nose as I read and, in challenging days I delete without reading, because they are so hateful. Still, I believe it matters to hear how the different perspectives represent the same events.

MSNBC used to have interviews with Republicans until they barefaced lied to please Trump. A decision had to be made to not give a platform to those who had used them to promote Trump’s lies.

I do admire the well-deserved self-flagellation. You are one of the reasonable ones, the kind that recognized their mistake and tried to make amends, all in the hope of achieving a saner polity in this great country of ours. May you continue to find the strength to pursue this effort; happy to support you.

Honesty. Thank you for being able to admit how you fell for the schemes and for leaving it all behind to fight for a better tomorrow. Tucker Carlson.......well, how can he look in the mirror and not wince. He has to know what he is and has been doing. In the pay and control of Putin I suppose. McConnell is a bit late. He has done way too much damage for decades. Maybe they can all request asylum in Russia. I'll chip in on one way tickets to Moscow. Keep up the good work Adam.

Remember there was that large group of Rs who spent July 4, 2018 in Moscow. Surely there’s more to know about that.

Sometime around 2011, I was sitting in the Skilled Nursing Facility with my mother at the Retirement Community where she lived. She shared a room, and her roommate had talk radio blaring. I did not know who was speaking, but became aghast as I listened. The speaker went on a tirade warning his listeners and their Congressional representatives against ever considering compromise.

Compromise, he ranted, was what Democrats and "the radical left" (he inferred they were the same) used to hoodwink "you" (the listener) into accepting socialism (a term he didn't bother to define). The key takeaway was to deter the listener from even consider negotiating, looking for middle ground, or working collaboratively.

It was Rush Limbaugh.

His message has only continued to metastasize. Every time I hear a MTG or a Matt Gaetz push the same line, I remember that broadcast. Nor was I surprised when 45* awarded this toxic blowhard the Presidential Medal of Freedom. How better, after all, to reinforce the pernicious MAGA delusion that to push division and hate is to be free. No wonder right-wing extremists see working across the aisle as a failure of principle.

I would have been more impressed (?) with McConnell had he spoken out after the Helsinki fiasco where Trump denigrated the 17 intelligence agencies to please Putin. Excerpts from that press briefing would be great campaign material, if they could only find the transcripts!! Ha.

Or had he had the integrity to support a vote for impeachment in the Senate. Or to let Merrick Garland come up for a vote. Or to let the vacancy on the Supreme Court stay open until after the 2016 election. Or..., ...., (you can fill in the blanks).

The Rs are afraid of being an angry Trump’s target. He is a bully of such a cruel magnitude that they will do anything to avoid angering him. If he targets one of them it is much worse behind the scenes than his hateful posts. He cannot endure humiliation aka being made a loser and he is probably the most angry now than he’s ever been. And they know he will sic the mob on them for the least infraction.

Alito’s arrogance the other day in refusing to talk about the case before him was beyond foolish. Is he truly willing to give a president full immunity to kill anyone? Because that is saying “I vote to give the president the right to kill me” (and anyone he decides isn’t kissing his arrse sufficiently today.) Because a president with the power to assassinate anyone with immunity will do it and the first to go will be anyone with the power to say no to him and that would include, ultimately, SCOTUS. There will be no more waiting to find out whether you may have a whim to delay or possibly say you don’t want to deal with the case before you. And sucking up is never enough for him because his revenge is never sated.

Adam:

Thanks for spilling your guts. I appreciate it immensely.

The abandonment of the fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949 opened the door for the likes of Rupert Murdoch. The policy required holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that FAIRLY REFLECTED DIFFERING VIEWPOINTS. In 1987, the FCC abolished the fairness doctrine.

The spectrum is broad. From the Nazi's, KKK, Immigration service children-abusers (separating migrant children from their parents for psychological torture) to selfish frauds like Tucker/Alex Jones/Watters/Hannity to the 147 Dishonorable Congressional Objectors to the relatively moderate GOP enablers in Congress and Fox pundits. What they all have in common is the admiration (or quiet acceptance) of despotism over our 250 year old Democratic Republic. The mass media Press is lazy when they call these people "conservatives". They are the opposite of conservative. If they gave a shit about "conserving" American values, they wouldn't be loyal liars for Donald.

Adam's observations about the GOP's current addiction to extremism reminds me of Charlie Munger's quote: "When you mix raisins and turds, they are all turds."

I say to Tucker, "what skin do you have in the game except to reap money for yourself and cause continuous disruption? For what, dear Tucker? Do you believe anything? Are you just a performer and the damage you foster simply entertains you? It's clear you don't believe much of what you churn. How about we put you in a bunker in Ukraine for a bit? Or maybe you'd like to volunteer with WCK, dishing out food to the people of Ukraine who've had their homes, cities and villages bombed out of existence? A little hands-on experience might help your dormant (if you even have one at all) empathy gene light up a smidge and you can begin to understand the damage you continue to create through your spewing. I suppose you will carry on as you have been until those you call friends and followers get bored." Thanks, Adam, for all you do. And yes, let's not forget Mitch's political manipulations over his career and not allow the kudos as he fades out of sight. He's destroyed too much.

Oh please… he earned the nickname Moscow Mitch by being just as crooked as the rest of them. If he thinks one talk at the podium is going to absolve all of his sins, he is living in a dreamworld. Either that or he thinks the rest of the world has short memories like he does (or memory freezes). He totally screwed his constituents back in Kentucky by letting the Russians into his home state on that crooked aluminum deal. And who is going to vote for? YUP… that’s right! Dumpo the crooked who he didn’t even have the backbone to vote to impeach after J6. Get away from the podium Mitch-you’re about to get hit by lightning for all the lies that you’ve spoken and I don’t want you starting a fire and burning down the capital building!

HI, there John! I keep saying Mother Nature is slowly spitting us humans off the island! We're at the precipice and you're correct, time is short...shorter for American democracy than our planet, but let's remember our planet's very unhappy with us these days. For some reason, after my too often periods of despair, I think more optimistically and realize that being at a turning point, a precipice, we can choose to go the better route!
