Santos Expelled for Being Donald Trump

It seems telling. A liar, fraud, money launderer, indicted, hanger on-er is expelled from Congress, while a liar, fraud, money launderer, indicted, hanger on-er is leading the GOP race for President. This conundrum is not a conundrum at all. In fact, it’s a feature of today’s GOP.

George Santos, the fabulouso-turned-Congressman is now a thing of the past. We know his lies from a mother who died on 9/11, to, well, I’m not even going to rehash everything. Who cares.

What matters though, is that he was following the Trump playbook. Corruption, followed by denial, followed by Peacocking (bragging, looking tough and colorful, you get the point) and finally attacking the Democrats and RINOs in the GOP. This didn’t work, and the House gets credit for booting him, although the GOP leadership showed complete cowardice and an lack of desire to defend the integrity of the institution.

The Trump playbook, however, is working for…Trump. Why? Because it’s a cult, focused on one man and devoid of any principles. Trump’s corruption is overlooked, his peacocking is seen as strength (trying to attract a mate? Well, at least attract support) and his attacks against Democrats and RINOs are not seen as pitiful, they are given as marching orders.

This weakness is dangerous, and the GOP officials need to be asked, over and over, what the difference was between the two? Maybe that is why leadership voted against expelling Santos, to avoid those awkward questions. That isn’t leadership, it’s pure cowardice.

America deserves better, whether they realize it or not.
