He has on Elizabeth Neumann who worked in Trump’s administration. She talks about how difficult it was working for Trump. How people were not interested in following rules and laws. This attitude came directly from Trump. Ms. Neumann eventually put out a video explaining how Trumps rhetoric made it very hard for her to do her job. She was working in homeland security. What are “We the people” going to do if the Supreme Court gets Trump off? What can we do? I have no faith in them. I will be shocked at one decision and relieved at the other. It’s amazing how “they” cause me anxiety!! Plus, they will be very wrong if they do grant him immunity. We all know this. Again, what can we do? We are at an undeniable crossroads in American history. I pray every day that justice, as we know the truth to be, will be served!!!
Anxiety is a perfectly normal human reaction -as long as we don't allow it to become overwhelming. When feeling anxious it is best to think about what can be done to resolve the situation that is causing the anxiety. For me, the BEST solution is to make certain that Trump, along with every other MAGA sycophant, is DEFEATED by an overwhelming landslde in November. Felony convictions are warranted, but the MAGA crowd doesn't care about that and will likely vote for their own anyway. In my opinion A LANDSLIDE TRUMP (and MAGA) DEFEAT IN NOVEMBER is the best way to keep the election out of the Courts. That, along with Power the Polls (which Adam Kinzinger (R), Brad Rafensberger (R) and other reasonable people from both political parties are co-chairs) will recruit honest and unbiased poll watchers throughout the country. Exactly how much power does Roberts have? Can he forcibly recuse Alito and/or Thomas from pertinent cases? January 6th cases would be “easy” for Roberts to exclude them if he can. But other cases rely on the HONEST disclosure from the justices. And honesty is not their strong suit. I’m curious who the 40+% are that approve. Must be mostly MAGA.

I think that there needs to be a Constitutional Amendment designed to provide a Supreme Court that is politically balanced in every aspect of its operation. That Constitutional Amendment must also set enforceable rules of conduct for the Justices and prevent outside interference if the Court. State elected officials, executive and judicial officers are sworn to uphold and defend the US Constitution BUT ARE DENIED THE PROTECTION OF THAT SAME US Constitution's Amendment 14, section 3 from someone who instigated insurrection or rebellion against the United States and is openly saying that he will pardon (read "provide aid and comfort" to) the January 6th rioters who stormed the US Capitol? The Supreme Court acquired the power to rule on the constitutionality of laws by taking it for themselves. It is not granted to them by the constitution. They should only rule on the proper application of the laws passed by Congress.
This article calling out the lost trust in the supreme court inspired me to do little research (oh no, the precursor to conspiracy theories)! I have generally thought of the Federalist Society as conservative think tank. Half of the justices seemed to be tied to the Federalist Society. Simply being tied to a conservative organization (or party) shouldn’t disqualify someone to be a Supreme Court Justice. But! When the Federalist Society looks more like a Billionaire Club that pays for kept justices, I think we have the bases for distrusting the Supreme Court.

Hi everyone: I latch on to Adam's writing as you do because there is a lot of common sense, and he stands out as one who lives his commitment to character and duty. I don't have an audience of my own, so I piggyback on his and comment on some of the other commentators. I'm frustrated that many of us lament among ourselves, and I worry that our desire to protect our country is not reaching more eyes and ears and resulting in action. Frankly, I think that the Biden campaign is not aggressive enough and that age is an issue, with Biden being perceived as much older than the Traitor. I've said it before, and I say it again here. I believe the Democrats should have an open convention and that President Biden should recognize the opportunity to give his last great measure to our country by stepping aside, at the right time. To draft someone such as Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro or Jamie Raskin or someone else who will bring excitement and appeal to the majority- moderate conservatives. I hate polls but our country seems to not be able to live without them. So, use them to get true majority answers on what we want, ie. border security, an immigration plan that makes sense, women's right to choose with protection for the unborn, ie. Roe v. Wade, the strongest national defense and war ready military with highly trained small strike forces, an economy that equates good and strong with how the middle class is doing considered on par with how big business is doing, taxing the wealthy- higher taxes will not at all impact the standard of living they enjoy from the opportunities provided in our country. The legacy of all of us should be how well we serve others. We place way too much emphasis in our present lives on politics, yet we do have a job to do to protect us from the Traitor and his followers. The great political minds, the Axelrods, Obama, Christie, Manchin, Kinzinger and Cheney, etc.,(Not Haley- she has demonstrated her moral failing) regardless of party and position, need to get together and produce an election machine that will win up and down the ballot in November. The clock is ticking. Waiting plays in to the hands of the evil. Thank you all for reading and may your efforts be successful.
Many good points. I agree greed on Haley demonstrating her moral failing by announcing that she will vote for Trump in November. Also that the Biden campaign needs to get more aggressive. I was encouraged by the latest tv spot narrated by Robert De Niro highlighting Trump's many failings during his presidency and how he "snapped" when he lost the 2020 election. Americans have a short memory regarding politics and need to be constantly reminded of Trump's failings and Biden's successes. Things may not be perfect under Biden, but they're a hell of a lot better. There are new homes being constructed in my subdivision for the first time since 2012. Amazon, Meta and Ferrara candy are each building billion dollar facilities 18 miles from my house. If we can preserve democracy by electing Biden in November, perhaps reasonable people, like some of those you mentioned, can slowly rehabilitate the Republican Party and bring a sense of mutual respect, compromise and balance back to American Politics. Biden will then leave office in 2029. If Trump wins in November he will only leave office when he dies and by then there will no longer be an American democracy.
