The War in Israel and Ukraine Are Directly Linked

The war in Israel has taken our attention, rightly so.  The scenes and stories out there are heartbreaking, angering, and fill me with rage.  To imagine anyone, ever, being able to do to innocent civilians what these monsters have done is really...unimaginable (if there is a stronger word it eludes me).  While civilians are often, unfortunately, killed in war, a nation or group with any appreciation for life does their best to avoid these as much as realistically possible.  Monsters, however, revel in this.  In a “peace” rave alone, over 260 people were killed, with grotesque acts being done by the terrorists.

There is a real axis of evil operating in the world.  These terrible things are not done in a silo…Russia continues to empower Iran, Iran continues to supply Russia with suicide drones and other weapons for the war in Ukraine, and Iran controls and arms Hamas and Hezbollah in the area around Israel.  Throw Syria in the mix, and truly Israel is surrounded.

In the era before WW2, many people tried putting their heads in the sand and hoping, beyond reason, that the threats facing the world would go away on their own.  Coming off the terrible Great War, the idea of confronting another bloody war was unthinkable.  But in history, it’s those who saw the threat with open eyes, yelled from the mountaintops when few were listening, who are today seen as heroes.  Winston Churchill was called a war monger, isolated and minimized by those ignorant to the truth.  The lesson from that era, is the earlier you confront the enemies, the easier it becomes.

As Germany advanced cautiously into the Rhineland in 1936, Hitler feared a British and French response.  Had they done so, it is quite likely German ambitions would have been stopped there, or forestalled.  Fearing another war, however, they didn’t act, and the rest is, well, history.

The war in Ukraine and Israel are not separate.  They are very much linked.  It’s quite likely that Russia is at least happy about the attack in Israel, hoping this will further strain the West’s determination and increase so called “war weariness.”  It’s not coincidental that as the US considered dipping into our regional stocks in the middle east to arm Ukraine, this happens.

I say all of this to make an important point.  Those pushing against further assistance to Ukraine are DIRECTLY helping the enemies of Israel, the US, and the west.  Iran, Russia, and Hamas are all hoping that we fall tired, and withdraw.  Russia is on the ropes in Ukraine.  For a mere fraction of the budget we have destroyed, or almost destroyed, the Russian war machine.  And that is just in a year.  Considering all we have spent and will spend to resist Russia, its billions vs tens of trillions.  Fiscally speaking, Ukraine is a very conservative investment.

To the Jim Jordans, MTGs, and Gaetzs of the world, they simply don’t care.  They wrap themselves in fiscal conservativeness,  but they are simply covering up their cowardice, and worse yet…a simple desire for fame.  They have put their own name recognition and fundraising above the interest of the US, and they know it.  They should be rejected and stripped of their conference membership in the House.  Same goes for Josh Hawley, JD Vance, and many others.

There is zero doubt history books will dedicate many chapters to this exact moment, and the decisions made now will determine the ultimate toll in lives, cost in dollars, and reputation of the US in the world.  Cowardice in the face of evil never succeeds.

Are there 5, just 5, brave GOP Congressmen who will say they simply refuse, ever, to vote for any Speaker candidate who would deny Ukraine the aid it needs?  Are there 5 who would show strength in the face of cowardice?  That would guarantee their place in the history books as a true patriot, not a pretend patriot who hates their country more than any others (looking at you Mr. Trump). My experiences leave me a bit in doubt, but then again, there has to be a line some won’t cross.  Right?  Praying this is the case.
