Despite Kellyanne Conway’s musing about a person of color, Trump’s running mate will be a mediocre white man that we have barely heard of., if we’ve heard of him at all. The one thing that Trump’s personality disorder simply won't abide is anyone that he perceives as smarter, better looking, or with the potential to be more popular, than he is. Poor Tim Scott, he is absolutely smarter, younger, definitely better looking,and seems like a nice fella who has made some weirdly poor choices politically. And then there are “the wimmin”…Trump won’t have one of those on his ticket either. He is a flaming misogynist. So we have a great many fairly anonymous MAGA Republican dudes waiting to hear the call…and they will. These other folks should get up off their knees and preserve whatever dignity they have left.

Vance, Elise Stefanik, Kari Lake, et al, to see who is the best sycophant. Mike Pence should be a shining example to all vis-a-vis what happens when you hitch your wagon to Trump's star.

The day after Scott declared his love for trump, on Charles Barkley and Gayle King’s show, they both said that he was auditioning for VP. But Charles emphatically stated that if trump thinks he’ll get the black vote with Scott as his VP, he has another think coming. The black community will not go for trump just because of Scott in his opinion. If only the Supreme Court would rule that Trump is not eligible to be one ANY states ballots, then we all could breathe a little easier. Adam, thanks for continuing to speak up, to educate us, and thereby prod us to hold our foxhole.
As if this election isn't scary enough, then there's the VP pick! As disappointed and sickened as I was in Pence's kissing up to trump at every turn, at least he did the right thing January 6th. I don't think any potentials mentioned would do that. Scary to think about.
I don't think you mentioned Ted Cruz as a possibility. After what trump said about his wife, he totally made up with him! How does Cruz look in his wife's eyes every day??

I think you're right he could cynically choose a "person of color" for votes. That person would have to understand why he or she was chosen, and the sickening job description that will go with it. And if his vp becomes a liability, Trump will legislate a way to fire him/her.
