What I don’t particularly like about Haley is that she has more than once said she will pardon trump if she’s president. I am opposed to him getting off, again, avoiding accountability. I know some say there will hell to pay if he goes to jail, but I think there’d be hell to pay if he didn’t get locked up. I’m ok with the latter scenario.

I absolutely agree with you. Anyone that would pardon Trump (including himself), after all that he has done to this country, would signal that our rule of law and accountability for crimes is meaningless. Same for excusing the J6’ers.

I have now lost all respect for Chris Sunnunu after his stated support for Trump if he is the nominee. Squarely putting party over country. Seems his (and many other republicans) narcissism blinds him to the fact that Trump is a wedge that will drive this country into the next civil war no matter the outcome of the election.

I have come to the conclusion that if Trump loses, he will claim fraud and launch an attempted coup. He will have nothing to lose because it means jail time as his prosecutions continue.

If he wins and protests erupt, he will invoke the insurrection act, mobilize the military and then implement his project 2025 BS. His “day one dictatorship” will thus begin. People who do not think this will happen are completely kidding themselves and haven’t been paying serious attention to what has brought us to this precipice in the first place.

Wholeheartedly agree. That’s why I say I’ll take my chances with the aftermath maga will inflict on this country ANY DAY over him in the White House declaring martial law and we’re left figuring out what plan B or C is for trying to remove him.

💯 AGREED

Anyone and I mean ANYONE who supports trump who endorses him ...when the aftermath comes and there is a post trump era...every and ALL

Election deniers

Flipped to support trump and his lies

Who pledged to pardon trump

Who pledged to.pardon the January 6th " Hostages"

Who enabled and continued to enable trump in the White house

ALL must be held accountable and ALL must be deemed unfit to serve and any public office except Federal PRISON.

it is precisely why this sick man has gotten as far as he has ..uts because of thier support of his con man lies. The know the truth. The difference is THEY DONT CARE.

Lots of updates need to be made to the constitution

Including barring anyone who participated in this sick era called maga. Needs to be written in LAW.

You’re so right when you say Iowa is “89.9 percent white, 6.9 percent Hispanic, and 4.4 percent white.” It’s THAT White. 🤣🤣🤣

Going after SS & Medicare? I don’t think so. Maybe someone should educate her that those aren’t entitlements, workers paid taxes into them throughout their working careers.

And don’t get me started about the cause of the Civil War. Didn’t she take social studies in school?

Expand full comment

Amen to calling Social Security & Medicare entitlements. We did pay into those funds and that is our money. It is the inept handling of legislators who apparently don’t know how to handle money but also the aging out of the baby boomers drawing down on the fund. There’s less workers paying into it also. All the more reason to get sensible, competent and fair policies for the southern border. Many thousands of migrants are willing to take jobs others don’t want and pay into SS. Sorry, I’ll get off my soapbox now.

I am puzzled by the statement from New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, who has cast himself as an "anti-Trumper", that if (more like "when") Trump gets the nomination, he (Sununu) would support Trump. Sununu is supposedly a moderate. If even he is going to vote for Trump, what hope is there to stop the latter's momentum, both in the primaries and then in the general election?

Expand full comment

Yep. He pretty much just threw Nikki under the bus didn’t he? I mean, after having endorsed her over Christie. Seems he’s getting good at this “under the bus” sport.

At one point in the past, I thought Sununu was living up to his public statement as an anti Trump moderate that I could respect. Not anymore. Showed his true colors... party over country.

Pretty amazing that the guy would get behind a narcissistic (soon to be convicted again) traitor rather than a “real” president like Biden.

Many who don’t admit dealing with the danger of DT is one thing Haley is a better candidate.

Her raising the hand to “support” T if he was the runner, old can’t do that. She lost my vote then.

Every day listening to news; It really is like EARTH 2... but with every day it’s like as a country we’ve decided to not look at DT’s history, his dialogue, his antics, his over all appalling behavior, his over all inability to be Pres. and it’s more than giving a pass on one corner. It’s giving an entire pass.

I do hope our country can improve and decide who we need to be

Thank you for this information! I didn't know about Iowa and New Hampshire. I just pray if trump is the candidate in November, everyone votes because I do not believe he will win. More like he'll go from a dream of the oval office to the reality of a square cell!🤞

Chris Sununu endorsed Nikki Haley but I saw him interviewed the other day and he very heartily said he would have NO problem with voting for Donald Trump and in that interview he sounded more enthusiastic for Donnie than Nikki. Another milquetoast Republicant.

Speaking of 2024 candidates- our President Biden, is mired in the very serious business, of world affairs: Israel\Gaza, Ukraine, and now Yemen . As he should be. His Congress, no help at all. Anyone else want to see VP Harris, step out of the shadows, to take on the noise of Trump-- and be given a chance to show she can lead, if Biden would falter( from age) in a new term?

It won’t be long now that we will be getting a sense of where this is going, in regard to Haley. IMO, Trump has the nomination locked up but will be interesting to see how Haley does. If she totally bombs, it may not be good if she wants to run in 2028. I would not support her with her claiming to pardon Trump at the top of the list. Out of the GOP field that was running, I would have liked to see Christie pull it off. I liked Hutchinson but he never launched and now is an afterthought. Buckle up, this will be a bumpy ride. Hard to believe this all kicks off next week. Vote 💙

Typo? " 89.9 percent white, 6.9 percent Hispanic, and 4.4 percent white" assuming the last one was supposed to be black?

As for Haley, I don’t think she has the depth or stamina to take on Biden. He can do this in his sleep, and he LOVES campaigning. He’s going to FORCE her to own trumps lies, or deny them -- no more hedging. That’s why Christie says she’s not up to it.

well Haley is starting to speak out against trump. she must also change her messaging on the cause of the Civil War and the abortion issue if she stands a chance to go against Biden. If she does that -a big IF- adding that she is young AND a woman- she may have a chance.

Being a woman has never been an asset in our male-dominated society.

Learned something I didn’t know- thanks. Do you have thoughts to share, on how SCOTUS might rule on the immunity issue, in February? Thoughts on a No Lables 3rd party candidate running if Trump gets on the ticket? Seems to me, Bernie took votes from Clinton, in 2016, and helped Trump in.

Larry Hogan just resigned from the No Labels. Some think it may be to run.

interesting. I also heard that Christie may join no labels or another 3r party group

Christie would be more likely to take votes away from Biden than Trump. Ditto Hogan.

if they don't want trump like they say they don't, then I would hope they wouldn't do anything that would make it easier for trump to win.

Yes, I heard him being interviewed a few weeks back and was asked about that. At the time he said he was committed until the end but I wonder if he’s changed his tube now.

Good comments and observation. But maybe correct the "4.4 percent white" for Iowa, to read "black".

I'm no pundit but I think she could win the CA Republican primary. But by then will it even matter?

I lived in NJ up until 2 years ago, NJ is late in the primaries as well, by that point it didn’t matter.

How about North Carolina and other states not allowing challengers to Biden on the Dem primary ballot? Is that a move to preserve democracy?
