1. Just subscribed! Love the solo podcast format. No video or guests needed. Hearing your perspective is the value with your responsiveness to subscribers questions, perspectives, and your feedback to such.
2. Your vision for what politics can be in the future is a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to hearing more about that.
3. I would like to hear your detailed perspective on what specifically border solutions could look like, what might be feasible and needed and what could have possible bipartisan support from what you know about the inner workings of the House. Agree with what you said about Dems needing to be proactive about this. More practical details and how to get there would be helpful.
I listened to Liz Cheney and Charlie Sykes today. Full disclosure: I am usually a Democrat, BUT . . . I wonder what type of “platform” the Republican Party might see if the Insurgency caucus finally self-immolates. Another way to think of this might be where should the “political center” be in a perfect world. P.S. I’m 78 years old and old enough to remember that the country worked pretty well when both parties took turns in governing. What I’m hearing from radicals these days is beyond any rational governing principle.
Yes please! Love the podcast format - easier for me to listen than read and need your input of sanity as often as possible. The podcast does not have to be fancy - I appreciate you deconstructing the current world of politics. I appreciate Chris Christie and feel we would be in such good hands if he were president. Could only get through the Ramaswamy show last night by pressing the mute button when he opened his mouth. I felt the moderators gave him too much time which took away from a serious debate. Is holding up a "Nikki Corrupt" sign not libelous? Enjoying your book too. And...I don't need video, just the podcast sound is enough for me.
I really enjoyed the verbal podcast and I value your insight and opinions here.
I think you are on to something by saying it out loud about not caring about party and caring about solutions. You always look forward and that's so important.
The podcast makes me feel like i have a special backstage pass to h
how it all really is!
I am grateful to be a part of this journey with you as I am sure many others here are as well!
I like the podcast format but maybe a little less stream of consciousness. I started a charity for Ukraine a year ago and we are creating child safe spaces to provide mental health care to Ukrainian children. For what it’s worth, I’m disgusted by the house right republicans unwillingness to fund Ukraine. They represent the best and greatest possibility of supporting democracy. We spent trillions on war in the Middle East hoping to seed democracy in countries unwilling to fight for it themselves. Ukraine is a democracy fighting to continue to be free.
I’d also like to see you talk about how principled republicans can unite and stand up to the maga base. Where are the Bush’s? Every other president? All the Republicans who really understand the threat Trump poses to democracy! Not just individuals separately but united. The Kelly’s, Mattis, secretaries of state, Kemps....
Please start talking about that. The cowardice. The unwillingness even of politicians who are no longer in office. Keep up the fight!
Frederick, Ukraine charity for children is really great! Thank You! I donate to Medshare International, a charity that provides medical care and supplies to Ukraine and other besieged countries
I like the podcast and just you is fine :). I do prefer reading the articles over a podcast though, so I hope you intend to continue the written format as well. I like that better because it makes it easier to respond. I can go back, skim through and reread sections to refer back to when posting a response.
I’m not a podcast fan. I much prefer reading an article. It would be nice if you could provide the text as well. I really enjoy reading your commentary.
I really enjoyed the podcast. You alone, or maybe interviewing someone with some critical information to share would be good. Another possibility is have a podcast dedicated to a specific topic (elections, parties, Ukraine, immigration, debunking the conspiracy theories, etc.) . Thanks for all you do. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday and good things in the newyear.
I think that will be a good thing, regarding the podcast. I'll certainly tell people about it. Stuff pops up every day. Voice or video is great, but always good to see your shining face.
Yea, I agree with you about Chris. As much as I'm way left of him I am under no fear of him being in the Oval Office. Our democracy would be secure under him. I have a lot of things to suggest but will try to lay them out so they make sense, so in the mean time, I really appreciate you and really like hearing from you.
Oh, no! Visitor dropped in while listening, missed most, cannot retrieve! Help!
The format of just you is fine. Personally, I don’t like the interview type. Seeing your handsome face would be nice, maybe photo if you’d rather not set up space every time. With an active little boy in house, would expect a lot of toys to be picked up. Love seeing Christian, right? Hope I did not misremember his name.
Heard debate info; doesn’t matter, not voting GOP anyway. AM INTERESTED IN THOUGHTS ON UKRAINE. 🇺🇦 I am frankly horrified that we would abandon them at this juncture. Why must GOP do add on bills ie IMMIGRATION that is very important, agreed, but they are in no way related. I am very alarmed that we will be leaving them but believe they have other supporters who will pick up the slack. They need our “will not use” weapons. Why can’t we give them?
I’ll catch up next time. If I don’t sort out a rewind, restart. Thank you, Adam. Had not hit me that we abandon people in wars on a routine basis but now I see! Next time!
Republicans and democrats, all under 40 that I know, think we should abandon ukraine. This is nuts. And I get called a boomer. You said russia lost 300000? Where did you get that number? Just curious. I read lc vindmans substack and it does not sound good for ukraine. Bad for ukraine, bad for USA.
Thanks so much again, Adam, for taking the time to do these podcasts-you are such a breath of fresh air! Look forward to listening to them. I keep hoping Christie or Haley would surge past trump and he would be stopped before it gets to the trump/Biden thing, or something would happen! Agree, our democracy is at stake and that is the most important issue of all-our nation has got to wake up! Thanks to you and people like Liz Cheney who bring sanity and truth to the table.
Your mention of Dec. 7 made me realize, I didn't see ANY acknowledgement of it today. I didn't sit in front of the TV or on the computer so maybe I missed it. I DID see a feature on Sunday Morning (Jane Pauley) about the American cemeteries in Europe and one in Italy was featured. It is lovingly and perfectly tended by 20 young Italian men who KNOW why those American heroes lay in their ground, they appreciate it and feel honored to care for them. Many young people in the US wouldn't be affected in the least if touring Arlington. People don't realize that the cemeteries over seas that hold our American treasure are cared for and tended to by the citizens of the country they are resting in. Yes, US provides funding but others care for the tombstones and the grounds. French citizens put flower wreaths on graves of our young men who shed their blood on French soil fighting for freedom and to rid the world of one of the most terrible people ever to be on this planet. Our youth AND many adults has no idea or appreciation.
That's why they are so cavalier about dumping aid for Ukraine, thinking Putin is just a great guy sticking it to Joe Biden, and loving how Donald cozies up to despots. We are dangerously missing the boat and we have to figure out a way to make people SEE what we have, what has been sacrificed to keep it, and they should hold it dear, but no they spit on ii and do not take our democracy seriously.
Rant over.....for now. There are plenty more where this one came from. LOL
If every every American adult spent one day in a war zone, they would have a much better idea of what democracy means and maybe even come to appreciate it!
I just try NOT to be Emily Liitella chastising everyone for not pushing for "Eagle rights". That's EQUAL rights, or too much "violins" on television. That would be VIOLENCE. "Oh......well never mind".

Ok thanks!

It’s insane. Frightening. But, we can do something about it… might take time

Good podcast. Video is nice to have but not necessary. Audio-only is fine.
Please stay genuine, authentic and ... unscripted. It's compelling. Keep'em coming!
Will do. Unscripted and genuine is the only way to be!
Adam

Thank you for starting this.

Some ideas that don't get talked about enough:
More tax tiers
Banning partisan gerrymandering
Expanding the house + technical specific committees
I like it.

Ya this will be in addition to the written stuff, not replacing it
I’m not a podcast fan. I much prefer reading an article. It would be nice if you could provide the text as well. I really enjoy reading your commentary.
BTW I have so much respect for Chris Christie. I hope he never stops saying the truth even beyond the debates.
