I’m not a Republican but I’m a big fan of yours. I’m eager to see what you’ll write, and I’m hoping you’ll help me to feel better about our country. (It’s okay for you to scare me too, if that’s your game. I trust you!)

Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) have every right to say what they like about Israel and the genocide of Palestinians as elected members of the US House of Representatives; they never took an oath to serve Israel . . .

I voted for Ron Desantis (R-FL) to be governor of Florida, not ambassador to Israel.

The recently ousted Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Congressman Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who took at least a dozen votes to get elected speaker, traveled to Israel immediately upon his election, declaring to the Israeli Knesset that the USA is steadfastly committed to supporting Ukraine in their war against Russia . . .

Was he running for speaker of the Israeli Knesset too?

Following his ouster . . . McCarthy (R-CA) traveled abroad again, this time to England, and expressed his open contempt for the white Republicans who make up the majority of the GOP and praised Democrats for their diversity during a debate at Oxford in the wake of his ouster as House Speaker . . .

Is he now running for the Prime Minister of the U.K.?

Nevertheless, he is free to go on media tours bashing white people and lobbying for Israel, because he has now resigned from the US House of Representatives . . . I can only conclude that the collective RINO butthurt over former Speaker McCarthy is all about the Israelis who have hijacked the American deep state war machine.

It has become so painfully obvious, especially where you have someone like Nikki Haley wagging her finger and shouting down Vivek Ramaswamy in a presidential debate on live national television when the questions of this Ukrainian war against Russia and any mention of Israel are concerned, that the United States government has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Israeli Political Action Committee.

Howdy sir! Loyal follower of yours from the hellscape called xitter and now here. Proud Cuban, proud American, proud NAFO! I’m a traditional centrist Democrat who like all us traditional centrists, waiver into both sides of the aisle for the betterment of the country. Looking forward to this and thank you for your service to our country!

Walter, i am so happy to see a Cuban citizen that is not a republican. I followed a group of cuban citizens that were democrats on twitter. .most cuban citizens are republican even tho they are harmed by republican hate agenda. I really liked that group on twitter. Cuban citizens have much to offer Americans. Your culture enhances America. We should all hang onto and embrace the cultures from which we come from. Republican cuban citizens are embracing regimes that are harmful to themselves, instead. I wish they would realize that issue.

I’m not a Republican, far from it, definite Progressive, Vietnam era Vet and pilot, who strongly believes in Democracy, our country and what the “experiment” was intended to achieve for “We the people”. I’m listening to your comments because of your participation on the Jan 6th Committee and in hopes that there may still be something worthwhile in the centrist Republican perspective. I encourage you and any other open minded individual to follow Thom Hartmann as well for a more historical perspective of our political environment.

Glad to see you hang your hat here at Substack. It’s a respectful community, for the most part. I, too, was a Republican for 40+ years until djt rolled into town. Now, years later, I’m a Democrat. I’m so thankful for the few Republicans that stood up & tried to do what was right, even though it cost them tremendously. You will be remembered with respect, dignity & courage. I want good things for you & hope to see you back in politics when the time is right. Welcome & good to hear from you! Sending you love & strength from my family in FL to your family.

Adam—

Frankly, you should consider changing Parties. The DNC is a better fit—based on your thoughts, words, and deeds.

Wish you well, but you’re neither a Republican nor a Conservative.

Flying airplanes for fun in the #ClimateEmergency is a dealbreaker for me, Adam, and schilling for dollars before you've written anything is less than impressive. I know enough about the putrid workings of Washington without your inside take. We need ideas and action, not gossip for profit.

You were my representative (Dixon, IL) and while we are probably as far apart as can be ideologically and I never voted for you, but I do appreciate you had enough dignity not to pander to the worst conspiratorial nonsense of the right. So I'll check it out.

Aloha Adam 🌺I’m not a writer, i am a reader. Welcome to Substack. You will have great reception here. The writers are an awesome bunch. I learn from them. I don’t even watch main stream media. I get my info here. They don’t have ads or billionaires here directing what the heck info can get out. There is a maga group and sometimes you might get some incendiary once in awhile but you can block them on the first attempt and you won’t see them again. You’ll get support and encouragement from the writers. They have compassion and you can communicate w/them. All topics are covered. Not just politics. You’ll get the word out to lots of people here bc that is what they do. It’s different from any other platform. Looking forward to your writings. I’m not a republican either but i have respect that you are a different kind of one. And we have a common enemy. My best to you on much success here. 🤙🏾shaka.

I must say, Joanne, that for someone who keeps insisting she's a reader, not a writer, you certainly express your thoughts well in writing.😏

I have often lamented, where are the Mark Hatfields, thinking, courageous Republicans? You are one, Liz Cheney another. Very proud of both of you. If the two of you were on the ticket I would vote Republican for the first time! You would probably go under another banner to keep from being soiled. I would follow. Great to have you on Substack.

I believe in your sincerity and am grateful for your brave work on the Jan 6 Commission. BUT I wish you would elevate your tone so you can meet the deep demand here on Substack for a thoughtful conversation on politics. This is not Twitter, and it's special because the content isn't for clicks or ads. You don't need to write about who has a punch-able face. Look at your comments! They are already yucky and you just started posting. Substacks are about community and conversation. You could foster a really interesting space here. Please and thank you.

A good friend of mine named Jim, a very smart decent man, now unfortunately gone far too soon, went to Princeton after graduating from high school in a small town in Arkansas. Jim told me this story once -- he apparently joined the Debate Society (or whatever it is called) in his sophomore year. He was a member for several months, but eventually quit and never returned because the group was led by an upperclassman who was a huge a**hole. He just couldn't stand him!!! That obnoxious upperclassman was the one and only Ted Cruz.
